Metaphor: ReFantazio – The Chalice vs. The Brew Quest Guide

Brilehaven is the third big city player to travel to Metaphor: ReFantazio. After your big showing at the first exhibition, the player will have many days of free time to complete many side quests and see all that the sea city has to offer.

In the Arenafront Wharf section of town, players will encounter Brewer, who asks them to find the Chalice Of Legends, without giving much else to work with as to where to find it. Although it may seem like a fairly simple task, finding the chalice isn't the problem, getting it is.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – How To Appraise & Purify Gear

Some gear found in Metaphor: ReFantazio will need to be assessed or refined; here's how you do both.

The Chalice Of Legends is reward for defeating Fatolich in the Lamentation Pit. Although killing the creature will yield the chalice, it is also the target of the reward, the Grieving Ghost of the Goblet which can be picked up at the recruitment center located in town. The cup will be confirmation that you killed the beast, so when you return to town, be sure to use it as proof that you killed the bounty before taking it back to Bewer and completing the quest.

Gallica will stop you if you are about to accidentally hand over the chalice before turning in the bounty.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – How To Spot Mimics (Imitecs)

Some chests in Metaphor: ReFantazio can be imitators, also known as Imitecs; this is how you see them and not be surprised.

The party facing Fatolich in the mourning pit

Fatolich is weak to Light and Strike.

  • Bring a Cleric or Healer archetype
  • Bring multiple Brawlers or Pugilists archetypes

The main gimmick in this fight is that on Fatolich's first turn, it will summon a Chimenza that will use a powerful healing spell on Fatolich to heal it for 1,750 points. This will always happen, no matter how much damage you do, so don't waste your first turn dealing damage. Instead, spend the first turn buffing your party and chipping away at Fatolich's defenses, as everything else is practically useless.

The pugilist learns Power Thrust at level 6 which is good for lowering his defense if you have no items. General Archetype is another good item for buffs to help maximize your first turn. The trick is to prioritize buffs and debuffs on the first turn to focus fully on offense on the second turn and use every Press Turn icon to try take out to Fatolich in just one turn. Since both of the enemy's Press Turn icons deal no damage, you don't have to worry about healing and can focus entirely on dealing damage. Once Faolich is dead, Chimenza won't be very hard to finish thanks to its much lower stats.
