Hunter x Hunter has one of the most amazing power systems in Shonen manga, called Nen. Nen's power system is extremely well thought out, and it's always interesting to see what Togashi comes up with when it comes to Nen abilities.

In HxH 401, Togashi introduces a new Nen ability, belonging to none other than Longhi, a fascinating character that fans must keep an eye on in the succession war.

Who is Longhi?

Longhi is a character that, until recently, fans didn't pay much attention to in the story. Longhi was first introduced in Hunter x Hunter during chapter 369 of the manga, titled “Borders.” This chapter takes place during the Succession Contest Arc which is currently still ongoing. Longhi is the personal bodyguard of 5th Prince Tubeppa, and was introduced alongside the bodyguards of the other princes and queens of the Kakin Empire. She wasn't the only bodyguard sent by Prince Tubeppa that day either, as Maor was also next to her on orders from the prince to recruit Kurapika to their side, even if it meant making a deal with Prince Woble.

Longhi would also not reveal until much later that she has Nen. Oddly, she didn't raise her hand when asked, “Who can already use nen?” earlier in the story. Even her own prince has no idea of ​​her powers.

At the time, it was hard to see that Longhi would be a stand-out character. But her true purpose was finally hinted at at the end of Chapter 400, which was released two years ago. IN Hunter X Hunter chapter 402, at the end she revealed to Kurapika that she could already use nen and got him to agree to her contract that would put Prince Woble in alliance with Prince Tubeppa.

Chapter 401, which came out recently, greatly expanded on what happened in that meeting. This chapter showed fans her nen ability known as Transparent World – Moonlight Decree – an ability she uses to make a contract with Kurapika. She also revealed some massive information that changes everything fans knew about the succession war, which this arc revolves around. A Nen ability that falls under manipulation

With so much information revealed in Chapter 401 of the Hunter x Hunterfans also got to witness a new Nen ability in action, Longhi's Transparent World – Moonlight Decree.

Transparent World – Moonlight Decree is more than likely a manipulation technique, especially as Longhi describes it as one “Conditional Manipulative Ability”. At first it could be mistaken as a specialist ability, as it was shown that she can give her power for someone to use as a boon, if it is written in the contract. Giving or stealing abilities is something that has been seen in specialists more than once. But the way she describes her ability makes it seem like it's manipulation, making Longhi more than likely a manipulator.

Anyway, Longhi's Transparent World – Moonlight Decree, can be quite a useful ability. This ability basically allows her to create time-limited contracts, meaning that these contracts must be renewed to continue working.

Longhi can include pretty much anything in his contract, from what fans know so far. With her contract, she can either bestow blessings or limit the power of those who sign it. In fact, Longhi can give her ability to someone else if they honor her contract. On the other hand, if someone does not follow her contract, then she can force them into a state of Zetsu, a state where the person will not be able to access their aura and therefore cannot use their abilities, which can be quite dangerous, especially on a place like Black Whale.

Also, one of the conditions of Longhi's ability is that she is completely truthful when explaining her ability and the terms of the contracts. Therefore, it is not possible to trick the other person with her ability. The person signing this contract must also fully agree to the terms and conditions and sign it and cannot be forced to do so.

Longhi's contract with Kurapika using the Moonlight Decree

A contract for one week between Prince Woble and Prince Tubeppa

Prince Tubeppa has been trying to get Kurapika on his side, as seen chapters ago, even if it would mean forcing an alliance with the 14th prince currently protected by Kurapika, Prince Woble.

Longhi managed to get exactly what Prince Tubeppa had requested from her by convincing Kurapika to agree to her terms. She laid it all out for Kurapika as transparently as possible. The main period of their contract is as follows:

The princes, queens and their bodyguards must not harm each other. This contract will provide a peace agreement between Prince Tubeppa's side and Prince Woble's side.

The contract, if both sides want to renew it, will be renewed once a week on Sunday at 9am in room 1014 – the same room where they discuss it in the manga. Tubeppa does not need to renew the contract himself, but only has to send one of his representatives to room 1014. It was clarified that non-malicious actions, such as healing someone on Tubeppa's part, will not violate the contract. So only malicious actions count.

If there is a breach of this contract, Longhi stipulates that a state Zetsu will be forced, depriving someone of their Nen ability for a week. If there is no son of Beyond among the princes, the contract is immediately fulfilled.
