Whether it is games that explore the new digital limit for horror production, or simple tributes to J-Horror Foundations, there are many games that celebrate the big sub-genre. This list is ranked both by the quality of the games and how much they were affected by J-Horror.

It is difficult to reject the enormous effect of PtReleased in 2014 as a playable demo, which took a simple concept of a domestic ghost invasion and made it possible one of the scariest games ever made. It is simple, but effective, and its cancellation and disappearance from stores made players hungry for more.
It's there Countenance comes from. Clearly inspired by Pt and PtJ J-horror influence (especially onryo yokai visual impact), Countenance delivers promise of what could have been. It is a stunning horror game full of worrying details that are heavy on the fears, which makes it a good time for all J-Horror fan.

Sometimes it is not just a matter of catching attention, but to catch attention through the game's game. IN The death assistantThe pure obvious power of the intimidation is evident from the moment players start the game.
In the game, perfect for horror, players take the role of a Morgue assistant who has a pair of run-ins with some very not nice demons while trying to do her job. The game plays on J-horror tropes of the supernatural in a workplace environment, and the fears are as powerful as everything in a Jewel film.

The first person, and to a lesser extent, third person games, is tailor made for horror, which puts the player in the protagonist's shoes to make scary extra affecting. So it seems that a top-down perspective would do the opposite … right?
Darkness is a fantastic statement to the opposite and delivers one of the most oppressive atmospheres and scary gaming experiences in the 2010s, everything from the top-down perspective. With an emphasis on uncertainty, supernatural spirits, shadows and uncertainty, J-horror effects are clear.

While the early 2010s were undoubtedly a golden age for the indie game space, it never disappeared, only developed into new territories. In the early 2020s, Indie Horror Games began to make a push into the co-op world. This may seem like it would reduce the horror, but instead it opened a completely new popular subgenre that has reasoned with players.
Fasmophobia Is the standard carrier for the new wave of co-op indie horror play. In it, players are tasked with chasing a list of scary ghosts with the help of an inferior digital equipment that ghosts are moving with. It is a great reinterpretation of the digital/analog tensions that are explored in classic J-Horror, and the ghosts themselves are clear broadcasts by Onryo Visual Archetype.
