Bandai Namco has revealed that network testing for Elden Ring Nightreign will begin for select players sometime in February, with registration opening on January 10th.

Before The Game Awards 2024 kicked off last night, trusted insiders told us there were going to be some “holy s**t” moments. It turned out that there were so many of them that it was hard to tell which ones were supposed to be the big surprises. The Witcher 4, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Okami 2, Onimusha… the list is almost endless.

Perhaps the biggest and most popular surprise of all, however, was the reveal of Elden Ring Nightreign, a three-player roguelike spin-off that lets players team up and take down some of the series' biggest baddies together. Given that FromSoft recently said it wasn't working on anything related to Elden Ring right now, it came as quite a shock, especially with a 2025 release date.

Lucky players can play Elden Ring Nightreign in two months

It's already surprising enough that a brand new version of Elden Ring will be ready to go sometime in the next 12 months, but it turns out that it's apparently in a near-playable state. Earlier today, Bandai Namco revealed that players will soon be able to sign up to access the Network Tests for Nightreign, which will essentially act as a closed beta.

According to Bandai Namco UK's Twitter account and the official website for Elden Ring Nightreign, registrations for the game's network test will open on January 10th, just over a few weeks from now. Tests will then begin and let a select number of lucky players into early access to the game sometime in February.

The network test is a preliminary verification test where the selected testers play a part of the game before the full game launch. Various technical verifications of online systems will be investigated by conducting large-scale network load tests.

Right now we don't really know anything about what the network test will entail, but it's a sign of how far ahead the game already is. Anyone interested can register on the game's official website on January 10th and hopefully find themselves playing Nightreign in February.
