Xbox Game Pass has been firing on all cylinders recently, adding at least two acclaimed titles to the service every month since September. Although it has encountered some technical problems Flight Simulator 2024 and STALKER 2s launches, they don't seem to have hampered Game Pass' momentum too much, and now Xbox Game Pass is about to end 2024 with a bang.
The latest in a long line of great AAA Xbox Game Pass launches, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has kicked off Game Pass's December lineup in style, and it's soon to be joined Hunt: Showdown 1896, For the King 2and Wild frost. Together, these games round out Xbox Game Pass 2024 on a high note. Xbox usually has a strong presence at the Game Awards
As the Game Awards show has continued to gain popularity over the years, Xbox Game Pass' presence during the ceremony has gradually increased. The 2021 Game Awards ceremony was seen Somerville, Hike to Yomi, Plague Tale: Requiemand Sniper Elite 5 everyone is notified, along with a confirmation that they're coming to Xbox Game Pass. The 2022 Game Awards saw the same for titles such as Atomic heart, Replaced, Party animaland Spirit tea. And last year's Game Awards confirmed it Harmonium was coming to Game Pass.
The Game Awards have also often been used as a stage for Xbox to reveal and re-discover its first-party titles, the vast majority of which are coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 was shown during several Game Awards ceremonies before the launch of Xbox Game Pass earlier this year. Two of the biggest surprises of the 2023 Game Awards show were Hideo Kojima's OD and Arkane's Marvel's Bladeboth of which are Xbox projects, and both of which will likely come to Game Pass when they eventually release.
What Xbox could announce at The Game Awards 2024
The odds of Xbox having a strong presence at this year's Game Awards ceremony are pretty high, and so are the odds of more Game Pass announcements. Between its first-party studios, Activision-Blizzard, Bethesda, and all of its third-party partners, Xbox has a lot of irons in the fire right now, some of which may show up during the 2024 Game Awards on December 12.
Obsidians Avowed is already confirmed for a February 18, 2025 release date, so the likelihood of it getting a trailer during The Game Awards is pretty high. The same goes for Rebellions Nuclear falloutwhich will be released in March. Then there are games such as Fable, Doom: The Dark Ages, FBC: Firebreak, South of midnight, The Altersand Towerborneall of which are slated for 2025 but have no concrete release dates. All of these upcoming Game Pass titles may appear during the Game Awards.
It has also been rumored that Xbox's flagship series, Halomay be on the verge of announcing something. The latest leaks suggest one Halo: Combat Evolved remake with Unreal Engine 5 may be in development, and while all leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, it would be great to see it become a reality at this year's Game Awards.
