IN Dragon Ball ZFrieza was the naturally strongest being in the universe. Without any transformations, or being an Android like Cell, or a magical creation like Majin Buu, Frieza had enough power to rule all of Universe 7. Frieza was quickly outclassed in the back half by Dragon Ball Zbut his revival near the beginning of Dragon Ball Super made it clear that Frieza has more potential than anyone else Dragon Ball character.
Frieza is extremely dangerous and has only gotten stronger Dragon Ball Super. Across the multiverse, many versions of Frieza have continued to terrorize the Z-Fighters, but only one stands out as Dragon Balls most powerful villain—and he's going to be a nightmare when the series finally returns.

Fusion Reborn Frieze was One-Shot by Gohan
Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn
IN Dragon Ball Z: Fusion RebornHell breaks loose and dead villains invade Earth as Goku and Vegeta try to stop Janemba. Frieza is one of many before Dragon Ball villains who recur in the film. Unfortunately, Fusion Reborn Frieza is totally outclassed by this point in the story. Fusion Reborn takes place after a version of the Majin Buu Saga where either Gotenks or Gohan kills Buu. As a result, Gohan effortlessly kills Frieza with one hit.
As humiliating as Frieza's defeat of Gohan is, it actually makes perfect sense in terms of power scaling. When introduced at the beginning of the Majin Buu Saga, Supreme Kai claims that any of the Kai could have killed Frieza in one blow. Gohan in Fusion Reborn already has his ultimate form, so he's easily the strongest character in the movie as well. Fusion Reborn Frieza never got stronger after Trunks killed him, so of course Gohan would wipe him out.

Ghost Warrior Frieza is strong enough to keep up with Vegeta & Future Trunks
Dragon Ball Z: Plan to Exterminate the Saiyans
Dragon Ball Z: Plan to Exterminate the Saiyans was a Famicom video game that was then adapted into an OVA. The film focuses on the Tuffle scientist, Dr. Lychee, seeking revenge on the Saiyans for the Tuffle genocide. Using his supercomputer, Dr. Lychee resurrects four of the strongest villains the Z-Fighters faced in the film's timeline: Turles, Lord Slug, Cooler, and Frieza.
Ghost Warrior Cooler ends up fighting Goku Plan to exterminate the Saiyansimplying that he is the strongest of the villains, but Ghost Warrior Frieza ends up fighting both Vegeta and Future Trunks. As a ghost warrior, Frieza can come back to life immediately after being killed. In the game, Ghost Warrior Frieza becomes Psycho Frieza, making him strong enough to fight all five Z-Fighters at once.

Xeno Frieza is not as broken as other characters in the Xeno timeline
Super Dragon Ball Heroes
IN Super Dragon Ball HeroesThe Xeno timeline is a version of Dragon Ball universe where the Z-Fighters experienced some variation of Dragon Ball GTs events, except Goku never seems to turn into a child or “die” at the end of the anime. Xeno Saiyans like Goku and Vegeta may not have God Ki, but they are extremely powerful warriors that can keep up Dragon Ball Superstrongest gods. The same cannot be said for Xeno Frieza.
By absorbing the One-Star Dragon Ball, Xeno Frieza gains a power boost that turns him into a mindless monster. Power-wise, Xeno Frieza is strong enough to keep up with Namek Saga Super Saiyan Goku and Xeno Goku in his base form. The former isn't impressive, but considering how overwhelmed Xeno Goku is, the fact that he couldn't kill Xeno Frieza alone is an impressive feat for Frieza. All that said, Xeno Frieza is easily killed by Xeno Future Trunks when he is surprised.

Dragon Ball: 7 Strongest God-Tier Saiyans, Ranked
Either by training hard or unlocking powerful new forms, Dragon Ball's strongest Saiyans are now God Tier warriors.

Majin Frieza is brought back to life to serve as Babidi's minions
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 tells an alternate version of Dragon Ball Z's events told entirely through Goku's perspective, where the timeline differs in small ways from the main story. During the Majin Buu saga levels, Babidi revives Frieza and Cell into his Majin minions, who continue to serve Super Buu and Kid Buu after he dies.
The duo even manage to break out of their mind control after a while and retain their power-ups much like Vegeta did in canon Dragon Ball the timeline. It's hard to put a finger on how powerful Majin Frieza is, but he's likely around high-level Cell Saga levels based on how strong he was when Trunks killed him.

GT Frieza stayed down in Hell to fight Goku one last time
Dragon Ball GT
Dragon Ball GT was the original ending of Toei's anime timeline back in the day. During the Super 17 Saga, Hell will burst and several old villains will start terrorizing the earth ala Fusion Reborn. Interestingly, Frieza does not enter Hell Dragon Ball GT. Instead, he stays down in the underworld to attack Goku with Perfect Cell.
It's implied that Frieza has gotten stronger since the last time he and Goku fought, but it's hard to tell by how much. Base Goku ends up defeating both Frieza and Cell without much trouble. Granted, GT Goku is ridiculously strong even in his base form, so it's not exactly a knock against Frieza. Considering how much time has passed since then DBZBut it's safe to say that GT Frieza is close to End of Z level, if nothing else.

Clone Frieza is a flawed recreation of Frieza during Resurrection F
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Clone Frieza is one of many recreations Android 21 makes of Dragon Balls strongest Z fighters and villains in Dragon Ball FighterZ. Like the rest of Android 21's clones, Clone Frieza is not as strong as the real Frieza, but he is actually quite a bit stronger than other clones. Clone Frieza's DNA is based on the events of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection Fmaking him stronger than the average clone.
Clone Frieza can use all of Frieza's techniques and transformations. This means Clone Frieza has access to his Golden Frieza form, giving him power comparable to literal gods. There are also multiple versions of Clone Frieza, all of which are destroyed at the end Dragon Ball FighterZs story mode.

Dragon Ball officially moves on from Goku & Vegeta
When the Dragon Ball Super manga finally returns for the Black Frieza Saga, Goku and Vegeta will no longer be the main characters of the series.

Toei Frieza was an important part of defeating Jiren in the Tournament of Power
Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super Anime
Toei Frieza is the version of Frieza that appears in Dragon Ball Z anime, Dragon Ball Super anime and Dragon Ball Super: Broly. The anime generally takes a more “out of control” power scaling than the manga. Golden Frieza in the anime is much stronger than he is in the manga, and plays an important role in helping Goku wear down Jiren during the final battle.
Not only that, Frieza generally does a better job in the Tournament of Power in the anime than he does in the manga continuity. The main thing holding Frieza back in the Toei timeline is the fact that he hasn't been seen since Dragon Ball Super: Broly. It will be a while before Frieza returns Dragon Ball Super 2but when he does, he will be more powerful than anyone else in the franchise.

Canon Frieza is the strongest league of death in the multiverse
Dragon Ball Manga, Dragon Ball Super Manga
Canon Frieza is the Frieza that appears in Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga and Toyotarous Dragon Ball Super manga. As it stands right now, Canon Frieza is one of the most powerful characters in the entire multiverse. While exploring the multiverse during the events of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Frieza finds a hyperbolic time chamber that he decides to train inside.
By training for ten years straight, Frieza unlocks his absurdly powerful Black Frieza transformation. Black Frieza is strong enough to kill Gas with one hit, fast enough to knock out Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta before they could even react, and dangerous enough to threaten the gods, angels, and possibly even Zeno. Canon Frieza will be the main villain of the Black Frieza Saga when Dragon Ball Super manga returns.
