Yep, Silent Hill F is definitely a Ryukishi07 story

In preparation for Silent Hill fone of my most awaited 2025 editions, I deep into Higrashi when they cry Series, hope to better get acquainted with author Ryukishi07. I really got more than I negotiated, as Higrashi when they cry is astonishingly upsetting, scary and uncomfortable, its sweet anime aesthetics a facade for a much darker, more sophisticated story.

To be clear I absolutely loved my time with Higrashi when they cryand it did more than enough to increase my hype for Silent Hill f. Of course this latest entry in Quiet hill Franchise could not, and should not have been a pure coal copy of Ryukishi07's previous works, but its Japanese environment and teenage role definitely did it in conversation with HigurashiAt least. After dozens of hours in Silent Hill fCan I say it has much more in common with Ryukishi07's previous projects than these superficial elements, and although some even think it is derived by something similar HigurashiAn alternative interpretation would be that it is a continuation of the same ideas as the older franchise, embedded within another IP.

Spoilers forward for Silent Hill f and Higrashi when they cry.

Silent Hill F has Ryukishi07's fingerprints everywhere

Social anxiety, horror and psychodrama are at the heart of Silent Hill F's story

The plot of Silent Hill f Is wonderfully complex and often confusing, but it does not require much analysis to decipher its core theme and ideas. Ebisugaoka, the game's fictional Japanese environment, is a small town plagued by a past that is both enigmatic and everyday and controlled by larger, incomprehensible cosmic units. In the middle of their god -like manipulations there are important deadly characters such as Hinako and SHU, which are the subject of the greater forces and suffer from serious confusion and other psychological issues.

This is not so different from how the conflict in Higurashi Games are presented. Takes place in the countryside, fictional Japanese city of Hinamizawa, Higrashi when they cry Follows no incoherent teenage people as they walk through a complex web of temporary and mental manipulation. “Hinamizawa -Syndrome”, a disease that infects Hinamizawa's residents and turns them violently, has really shades of Quiet hillits own violent forces, and the constantly outstanding horror in this scenario is similar to the feeling of expansiveness that characterizes Silent Hill fs plot, which is constantly knocking out.

Worth noting are both the enigmatic nature Silent Hill f and Higrashi when they cry. After a first Playthrough/reading of the first Higurashi chapter, the audience is mostly in the dark, much like how just a playthrough of Silent Hill f Isn't that enough to fully understand the story.

How Silent Hill F is different from Ryukishi07's previous work

Divided into their easiest identifiable components, the similarities between Silent Hill f and Higrashi when they cry are undeniable. But each story is more than the sum of its parts, and how these parallel elements interact with each other, as well as how they are presented to players, differs greatly between projects.

Place Stone Orb Silent Hill F

Firstly, Silent Hill f is told at a much faster rate than any of When they cry Games, which tend to take the time and lose players to a false sense of security with long records in life, before ripping away all this. Silent Hill f Gets action -packed and shocking after just a few minutes and does not take the foot of the gas until the credits roll. Since it is a more action -oriented experience, this can be expected, but it also changes the story from something more volatile and vague to something much more urgent and in some ways more disoriented.
