Believe it or not, my Tiktok algorithm feeds me a lot of video game videos. In addition to the usual harvest of trailers, video essays and streamer reactions, I see a lot of videos of people listing their 10 favorite video games through the ages. I have noticed that Millennial creators tend to choose games released in the late 90s and 2000s, while Gen Z often sticks to games that were released for the last 10-15 years or so. It makes sense that people would place the games they grew up with on a pedestal, but I'm always a little surprised when I see Ghost of Tsushima On these lists or even tops them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and Tsushima Is far from a bad game – I actually think it's fantastic. It is a beautiful open world game with intense battle and memorable characters, but I feel it is completely outclassed by many of its comrades. While I don't think it's the best game ever made, and that wouldn't make my personal top 10, I wouldn't raise my eyebrows so much if I were to see TsushimaS sequel, Ghost of Yoteito make these lists.
Ghost of Yotei is set hundreds of years after the events in Tsushima And tells the harsh revenge story about ATSU when she intends to slaughter all members of Yotei Six, who killed her family, destroyed her home and left her in death 16 years before the start of the game. YoteiClassic revenge history is undoubtedly simple, but it is elevated by ATSU, which is a complex and layered character that is willing to do what it takes to avenge her family.
Atsus journey drew me in more than Jin Sakai's story Tsushima, Partly because of how it is expertly woven into the fabric in the open world. To take out a random, optional enemy camp triggered a scene that showed the impact ATSU had on Yotei Six and their leaders, Lord Saito. Almost everything is tied to Atsus's pursuit of revenge, and that together with the large variety that players encounter when exploring the open world makes every side search feel valuable in a way they did not Tsushima. And it really was Tsushima'S greatest deficiency and what prevents it from being the type of game that deserves to reach all these Gen Z Top 10 lists, in my opinion. TsushimaActivities with open world are flat, dull and repetitive, with Ghost of Yotei Completely outclasses them.
Ghost of Yotei Beats Tsushima in each category
Ghost of Yotei not only have better open world activities and side assignments than Tsushima. Ghost of Yotei Also beats the 2020 game in all other categories, with a more gripping story, more exciting battle and better graphics. Yotei Extends combat opportunities by giving ATSU five primary melee weapons to choose from, with the ability to switch between them on the go. ATSU can also get a variety of other useful tools that give her even more options and add a lot of variation to each combat scenario.
Graphically, Yotei have a really unfair advantage over Tsushima. Yotei was built to take full advantage of PS5 hardware, while Tsushima was made with PS4 in mind. Yotei is one of the nicest video games ever made and is comfortable ahead of its predecessor when it comes to animations, structures and performance. Both games are absolute works of art when it comes to their pictures, but Ghost of Yotei is completely in a class.

Except to see Ghost of Tsushima Dominates the Gen Z Top 10 lists, I often see the argument that it was the game that right should have won this year's game 2020. The last of us 2 Won this year's game at the Game Awards 2020 and effectively swept the price exhibition. Look at the other games nominated for this year's game 2020, I don't think Tsushima would have won even if Last of us 2 was taken out of the equation.

Of these, the only one that I would put Tsushima Forward is FF7 -REMAKE. All other nominees had a higher examination value than Tsushima. In fact, when it comes to gaming nominees for goty, Tsushima is at the lower end with its 84 total ratings.
I don't think Ghost of Yotei Should win this year's game 2025, but I think it is more deserving of a nomination than its predecessor and stands a realistic shot at taking home the top prize. I think Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the present frontunner along with Hades 2 and Hollow Knight: Silksongand Yotei still hear in the conversation.
I think Gen Zs affinity for Ghost of Tsushima Koils that it is one of the major Playstation exclusives released when they attended high school. Everyone has that bias, and we exceed all the games we grew up with. But Ghost of Yotei Realize promise TsushimaDelivering an incredibly open Samurai game that will be extremely difficult to top. It feels like the perfect realization of the concept and is potentially sucker punch's best game so far. Maybe five years from now, we see it listed as one of the best games of all time in Tiktok videos made by Gen Alpha.
