The Void Century is one of the most important periods in history One Piece. It was during this dark time that Imu and his loyalists destroyed the ancient kingdom and removed almost all traces of it. They also began to punish anyone who had previously tried to stand in their way.

Since Shirahoshi is Poseidon, she is quite deeply connected to the Void Century. She realizes that her responsibilities as an ancient weapon go beyond simply ordering the Sea Kings. Nerfertari Vivi

Since Blackbeard is a descendant of Davy D. Jones, Imu is doubly wary of him. It has been confirmed that Davy D. Jones used to rule the world at one point, and Imu likely ended his reign.
Later, Davy D. Xebec sought to regain his ancestor's lost throne. But he failed, and now his son is actively trying to make it happen. Blackbeard has actually already set things in motion. He has obtained two of the deadliest Devil Fruits in the world and created a crew of the most notorious criminals in the world. He is on the right track, unless he is stopped by his rivals.
