Xbox Game Pass is losing Return to Monkey Island and two other titles later today, October 31st. The upcoming catalog rotation will bring the total number of Xbox Game Pass departures for October 2025 to seven.
Ranked in the 98th percentile of all releases scored on OpenCritic, Return to Monkey Island is one of the highest-rated titles currently available on Xbox Game Pass. It is the latest addition to Monkey Island franchise, which takes place shortly after the events of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge. When you play the first two entries are not required to enjoy Return to Monkey Islandit enhances the experience due to a plethora of callbacks scattered throughout the 2022 game. Playing the later episodes beforehand will have a similar effect.
Return to Monkey Island Leaving Game Pass after 3 years
The October 31st Xbox Game Pass catalog rotation will result in the loss of service Return to Monkey Island, Metal Slug Tacticsand Exactly. The trio is expected to drop around midnight local time, so players should technically have access until November 1st. In addition to being the highest ranked title in this batch, Return to Monkey Island also has the longest Game Pass period of the bunch, having joined the service in early November 2022. It's now just eight days away from its three-year anniversary on the platform. As usual, the October 31 departures are currently available to purchase at member-only discounts of up to 20%.
All Xbox Game Pass games will be discontinued after October 31st
Xbox Game Pass already lost four other titles by mid-October 2025: Cocoon, Core Keeper, Donut Countyand Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed. With this latest batch, the total number of removals for the month rises to seven. Meanwhile, there were 66 new additions to the service in October, resulting in a net gain of 59 titles. Even excluding the large amount of Ubisoft+ Classics shadows that dropped alongside the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price hike on October 1st, the platform still added 19 new releases – far more than it lost in the previous 31 days.

Xbox Game Pass currently has half a dozen confirmed titles for November 2025. The upcoming batch kicks off with 1000xResist and Football Manager 26both of which are released on the first Tuesday of the month, November 4th. Whiskerwood, Void train, Winter Burrowand Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be launched in the ten days that follow. The November 15th Xbox Game Pass departures are expected to be officially announced on or around November 4th, when Microsoft will most likely detail its entire Wave 1 lineup for next month.
