It's a big day for Marvel's Wolverine, which currently has a big panel at San Diego Comic Con, detailing never-before-seen footage from the game in action, as well as more story details. As promised, we got a big new trailer for the title, this time focusing on the game's story and what Logan actually does.
Wolverine has created Jean Gray as Logan's love interest
In the trailer, we see a bunch of footage involving all the villains we already know. There was Sabertooth, Sentinel, Lady Deathstrike and more confirmation of The Hand, but one of the more interesting parts of the trailer is that it appears the game is setting up Jean Grey, previously revealed in another trailer, as Wolverine's love interest.
Of course, comic book fans will know that Jean Gray has been Wolverine's love interest a few times before, although she's more often associated with Cyclops' love interest. It seems Insomniac has gone for the former, especially with comments from Jean Gray actress Krizia Bajos, who commented after the trailer during the panel that “there's something there, a cosmic connection. She can see through his walls and his wounds.”
However, it seems that their relationship may be a little more awkward than it seems, as Wolverine appears to be dealing with a partial memory loss. It will be interesting to see how their relationship grows in the game, and if we will be looking at a Wolverine and Jean Gray ship when the game is over. If Cyclops has anything to say about it, it might not end that way.
