Gearbox has officially revealed the second DLC story pack for Borderlands 4with the return of fan-favorite Vault Hunter FL4K. Borderlands 4 DLC Story Pack 2, titled FL4K and the Last Resort, launches on September 10 alongside a brand new Vault Hunter, Loveless the Hacker. This story pack follows up the Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned DLC that was released in March of this year.
Borderlands 4 has faced some criticism from players in the months since it originally launched, particularly around its DLC story pack. While DLC Story Pack 1, which included Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned plus the new Vault Hunter C4SH was generally seen as fun content, many fans took issue with Borderlands 4 The DLC's high price tag for its short runtime. It is unclear whether Borderlands 4 DLC Story Pack 2 will have the same price-to-playtime ratio, but fans may want to brace themselves for a repeat of the first story pack with FL4K's return in September.

The official one Borderlands The Twitter account shared a teaser trailer for the upcoming FL4K and Last Resort DLC for Borderlands 4. In this trailer, the Beastmaster comes from Borderlands 3 continues his hunt, this time alongside the new Vault Hunter, Loveless. FL4K's beloved pet Skag, Mr. Chew, appears to be missing according to the poster shown in the DLC trailer, prompting the Beastmaster to search Kairos for his lost companion.

FL4K did its thing Borderlands series debut as one of the four playable Vault Hunters Borderlands 3. Like Beastmaster, most FL4Ks are built-in Borderlands 3 focused on its unique pet mechanic, which allowed players to equip the Vault Hunter with either the partner Skag, Jabber, or Spiderant that FL4K can command in battle. With FL4K joining the cast Borderlands 4 on Kairos, Moze is the only one Borderlands 3 Vault Hunter is missing from this crew.
As with Zane and Amara before him, FL4K will not be playable this time around. Instead, the new Vault Hunter, Loveless the Hacker, joins the list of playables Borderlands 4 characters, marking the sixth and final Vault Hunter in the game. Not much is known about Loveless at this point other than that she is a cyborg and former Anshin hacker turned assassin with a digital virus she has implanted in her mind and can digistrate into a physical form similar to Zane's Digi-Clone skill in Borderlands 3.
Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 also includes a new map zone, a new big boss fight, and new legendary and mother-of-pearl weapons.
Although September 10 is still a long way off, Borderlands fans still have great content to experience in the meantime. Right now, the first episode of Borderlands Dead ECHO audio drama is available for streaming on Spotify, YouTube and Apple, with new episodes released weekly. Also Bounty Pack 4 for Borderlands 4 will be released on July 30th and will bring a new mission, new bosses, new legendary and mother-of-pearl gear, and more cosmetic options for players' Vault Hunters, vehicles, and ECHO drones.
