Tips and tricks for Battlefield RedSec

Battlefield RedSec is Battlefields all-in-one free-to-play Battle Royale experience that throws players into intense duo or team-based action. With a huge 100 player open map, a finishing Firestorm and a range of unique mechanics, those looking for a new free game to dive into will not be disappointed.

Like any Battle Royale, Battlefield RedSec not only builds on the classic formula but also reinvents it and adds its own signature Battlefield style to the mix. This will require some players to adapt to its unique gameplay. Here are some tips and tricks to help you get better at Battlefield RedSec.

Choose the optimal drop location

One of the biggest mistakes some players make is not choosing the optimal drop spot at the start of their Battle Royale match. Right off the bat, there isn't necessarily a single best place to visit Battlefield RedSec. However, there is an optimal way to ensure that players start their game immediately choose a seat based on their flight path.

Unlike other Battle Royale titles, players record Battlefield RedSec don't release them all from a single point. Instead, they are split into a series of helicopters that fly side by side at the start of the game. Because of this, some players will be closer to a POI than others, meaning that if you jump from a helicopter that is further away, those that are closer will likely reach it first.

Instead, select POIs that are relatively close to your helicopter's flight path to increase your chances of starting strong. POIs within about 1,200 meters of your helicopter's path are usually the best and easiest to drop straight onto. A good practice is to ping your desired location in advance so you know exactly when to deploy.

Diversify your classes

Battlefield RedSec is definitely one of the more unique battle royale games out there, thanks to its inclusion of the class system from Battlefield 6which players can choose from directly. While many players may find themselves failing the Assault Classthis is mostly due to them gaining the ability to repair armor 33% faster once they've earned enough Training Path XP.

But to work better as a team, it's often best to diversify your class roles. For example, teams can benefit from having a support player thanks to their ability to bring back ammo with their Supply Bag, carry extra armor plates for teammates, and revive or take down players faster.

Engineers are a must for every team, as they are equipped with a rocket launcher as standard to combat vehicles, and they can open locked safes with their trusty repair tool. Recon can often take a backseat, but in Squads having a Recon player can make a big difference thanks to their ability to spot enemies while aiming, as well as their access to the motion sensor and Recon Drone, both good for gathering information or doing stealth.

In short, team members should not all default to one or two classes, doing so means missing out on important advantages that can turn the tide of a match.

Customize your side arm for success

At the beginning of the game, when you choose your class, players can choose and customize their Sidearmwhich will be carried with them and act as the very first weapon they can use. That being said, be sure to do it choose the right sidearm for you and customize it with the right accessories that suits your playing style.

Directly, M44 is easily the best sidearm to chooseas it provides the most power of any secondary option and has excellent range. But if you haven't really unlocked it yet, other sidearms like the P18 are still solid options. When customizing your sidearms, be sure to choose accessories that reduce recoil, increase magazine size, increase damage range, and even select Hollow Point Ammunition for increased headshot damage.

Equipping your knife increases movement speed

One of the biggest criticisms some players may have is the overall pace Battlefield RedSecwhich is noticeably slower than other Battle Royale titles such as Call of Duty: Warzone or Fortnite. But those who want to increase their movement speed can do so with a simple trick. Equipping a combat knife or hunting knife increases your sprint speed, make it a good habit to run with the knife out of combat to get from point A to point B faster on foot.

Avoid plating in combat

One thing players may notice Battlefield RedSec is just how long it takes to change armor. IN RedSec, it takes about three seconds to apply a single armor plate and about six seconds to refill completely. Although the infantry class can respawn 33% faster once it ascends along its training path, players should still be mindful of when they choose to replenish their armor.

For example, repairing during combat is generally not advisable unless your teammates can cover you while you do. When you need to quickly pop a plate, try to disengage from combat and focus on equipping a single plate first before deciding whether it is safe to use another.

On the flip side, when you're damaging an opponent's tiles, be sure to pressure them if they try to disengage while alone or if their teammates are out of play. Doing it maybe allows you to catch them in the middle of the plate, puts them at a great disadvantage.

Car trays for vehicles

One of the hardest things players can deal with RedSec are vehicles, especially tanks and IFVs. While these vehicles often require some work and luck to acquire, some players may be lucky enough to open a vehicle trailer early in the game and secure one. That said, it's best to know how to handle them.

Engineers are by far the best class to take on vehiclesas they spawn by default with a targeted launcher that can be upgraded to guided once players have leveled up their training lane. But other classes can too get extra gear to counter vehicles from Anti-Vehicle Gear Drops and Class Crates opened by Engineers, which provides additional launchers along with other tools such as Anti-Vehicle Mines.

Be sure to do this when using a free throw starter aim at the back, top or sides of tanks and IFVs to deal with increased damage. Anti-vehicle mines are best placed in areas where ground vehicles least expect them, such as on main roads with poor visibility. In the case of aircraft, select lock-on launchers found in Anti-Vehicle Gear Drops and crates to take them down, although standard machine guns can still make a dent if enough fire is focused.

Practice your skills in the Gauntlet

Jump into RedSec Battle Royale and testing your skills is not a bad idea by any means, as players will face a mix of both skilled and casual players. However, for those who want to practice in a respawn game mode and do not have access to Battlefield 6, The Gauntlet is by far the next best thing.

The Gauntlet pits groups against each other on parts of the Fort Lyndon map, with their charges ready from the start. Teams compete in several rounds, each with different objectives, and are eliminated if they do not qualify for the next round. In addition to being a great mode, the intense PvP action is combined with the ability to resume (except in specific objectives where resumes are disabled) making it a great way to practice your gunplaytest new weapon builds and familiarize yourself with RedSecs unique mechanics.

Don't be afraid of the firestorm

Firestorm in Battlefield RedSec is arguably the deadliest closing circle in any Battle Royale before it, instantly eliminating any player caught in its clutches. While this will cause some players to try to stay away from it, players don't actually need to fear the firestorm too much.

The firestorm is surprisingly slow, and while it is definitely good practice to avoid getting too close, players can easily play near the edge of the circle and stay ahead of it without much trouble. This makes fighting close to Firestorm, grabbing redeploys, and raiding the edge of the map a viable strategy. Just make sure not to let Firestorm touch you or it'll be a quick trip back to the lobby.

Shakedown enemies to reveal their teammates

Are you in a situation where you manage to defeat most of the enemy team, but one always slips away? You actually can Shakedown knocked down players to reveal the whereabouts of their teammates. Simply approach a downed enemy and hold the melee button, just like when you perform a normal takedown. Doing so will trigger a unique animation and, once completed, the remaining teammates' locations will be briefly highlighted.

Use destruction to your advantage

One of the most unique aspects of Battlefield RedSec is its destruction, allowing players to destroys almost any structure in the game. This opens up a wide range of opportunities to outplay opponents. IN Battlefield RedSecbe sure to use explosives like rocket launchers to blow up walls for new entry points to buildings or to remove enemy cover.

Call-in gadgets like Air Strikes can also tear through most structures, so don't hesitate to use them to flush enemies out of buildings or eliminate hidden players altogether.
