GTA Trilogy Developer Unfollows Rockstar Games

Grove Street Games' attempt to remaster the famous trilogy was ultimately in vain. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition received primarily negative reviews from critics and fans due to its massive number of bugs, glitches, and poor visual upgrades, resulting in an apology from Rockstar Games. While many updates have been released over the past three years, the latest appears to have resulted in Grove Street Games unfollowing Rockstar Games on Twitter, according to eagle-eyed users on the platform. Although the studio remains in the credits for GTA Trilogy remasters, the latest update has removed the Grove Street Games logo from the game's home screen, which fans believe is the reason why Rockstar Games is suddenly unfollowed.

In response to the studio being removed from the trilogy's home screen, Grove Street Games boss Thomas Williamson expressed his frustration on Twitter, claiming that hundreds of fixes in the game's latest update were actually developed by the studio but “stayed out of players' hands for years.” Although Williamson states that many of the fixes included in the latest update for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was made by Grove Street Games, Rockstar seems to have brought in Video Games Deluxe to enhance the trilogy, as the studio is now credited in the game.

While it seems to be up in the air but which studio developed which fix, the latest patch is arguably its biggest yet. The surprise update not only includes a classic light mode, but makes a slew of fixes and improvements to enable a much smoother gaming experience. In fact, the update seems to be so big that there are even changes not mentioned in the latest one GTA Trilogy sticky notes.
