Sector Z is quite short in Star Fox remake on Nintendo Switch 2, but it can be difficult to get enough hits to get the medal. Splitting your time between shooting enemies and protecting the Great Fox from the missiles takes some practice to get right. This guide will explain best way to earn enough hits for a medal in Sector Z, both with and without Kat's help.

How to earn a medal in Sector X in Star Fox (Switch 2)
You need to sharpen your shooting and flying skills to win the Sector X medal in Star Fox on Switch 2.
How to earn a medal in Sector Z in Star Fox
You need 100 hits to get a medal in sector Z. Destroying the Copperhead missiles earns 10 points each, so that's 60 points in total. This means you only need to earn 40 hits from other sources.
You must get the last hit on a Copperhead missile to earn points. This is one of the reasons why you might not have enough hits at the end.
If you fail to destroy a missile, it will damage the Great Fox and end the mission.
You also have to keep all teammates alive and can't let any Copperhead missiles hit the Great Fox.
There are two slightly different versions of Sector Z, depending on how you reach it:
-
Only Your Team (Sector X Warp Route)
-
Kat joins at the end (Zones Route)
If you took the warp gate alternate route from Sector X, you will not get additional help during the Sector Z mission. This makes the ending more difficult when three missiles are launched at once. But it also means one less person to accidentally make the last hit on a missile and take away your chance at a medal.
The usual way is by completing Zones. You will also have to rescue Kat from the enemy warriors during the Zones mission for her to appear in sector Z; otherwise it works the same as the Sector X warp route.
Kat will join when the last three missiles are deployed, and she will help shoot them down.
Sector Z Tips for the medal in Star Fox
Destroying the Copperhead missiles is crucial to earn the points required for a medal, but so is keeping your team alive:
Look out for enemy fighters during missile attacks
Your team is notorious for getting attacked while missiles land on the Great Fox. You only have a limited amount of time to destroy the missiles, but your teammates can get shot down if you ignore them.
When the missiles come out, go back near the Great Fox and your team. More enemy fighters will come out and one or more of your teammates will be targeted. Take care of the enemies chasing your team before trying to destroy the missile. If you don't have hyperlasers, you need more time to destroy the missile.
You may need to switch to the missile if it gets too close before you fully save your team.
Destroy salvage boxes
There are a bunch of blue save boxes scattered around the level. Destroying the crates gives +2 hitsso this helps build your score. The beginning of the level is the best time to go after these, as you don't have missiles to deal with and only need to save a teammate now and then.
Get enough hits in sector Z i Star Fox remake is tight, but with these tips you'll do it with ease. Just remember to always get the last hit on the Copperhead missiles.
