Updated November 28, 2024 by Meaghan Daly: Minecraft debuted three massive ones since 2021, each of which dramatically changed map generation. The 2022 “The Wild” update, version 1.19, introduced brand new biomes. Similarly, the subsequent “Trails and Tales” release in 2023 introduced the wonderful biome of petal-filled cherry blossoms. Version 1.21, “Tricky Trials”, filled the iconic sandbox game with combat-centric dungeons and new loot. Needless to say, a lot has changed since version 1.16, and there are many more worlds to explore.
