Layoffs coming at Microsoft, Undead Labs potentially at risk
New reports of a series of pending layoffs could be seen State of decay 3 developer Undead Labs is closing its doors. A recent press conference with Communication Workers of America District 9 Vice President Frank Arce revealed that Microsoft is expected to begin another wave of layoffs, possibly as soon as early July. Several Xbox studios could be on the chopping block as part of the layoffs, including Undead Labs, Double Fine Productions, Compulsion, and Ninja Theory. The affected studios alone represent more than 400 jobs that could be lost as a result of the layoffs, with more expected at Blizzard and Bethesda. Reports have suggested that the planned layoffs could represent “the biggest single series of cuts” for the Xbox brand.
