  • Sniper Elite: Resistance released a new patch with 3 maps and technical fixes, addressing various issues in the game.
  • The update includes optimizations, bug fixes, and improvements to UI, performance, and missions in both single-player and multiplayer modes.
  • Rebellion Developments is actively working on post-launch content for the game, promising additional missions, weapons, and more for Season Pass holders.

Sniper Elite: Resistance has rolled out three new maps, alongside a long list of technical fixes across game modes, in its first sizable patch since launch. Crafted by Rebellion Developments, Sniper Elite: Resistance was released on January 30, 2025, on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, to an overall mixed reception.

The initial period right after launch has been a rocky one for Sniper Elite: Resistance. Apart from middling critical reviews, the shooter title has also been divisive among players, some of whom have called Resistance closer to being a DLC for Sniper Elite 5 rather than its standalone sequel. However, since the game’s underwhelming release, Rebellion devs have been listening to feedback and have been hard at work improving the player experience in the latest Sniper Elite entry. As a big step in that direction, they recently shipped a bulky update onto the action game across all platforms.

Sniper Elite: Resistance Makes One Exciting Feature a Staple of the Franchise

Sniper Elite: Resistance smartly builds upon its predecessor’s Axis Invasion mechanic, making the feature a real highlight mainstay of the franchise.

Following the Sniper Elite: Resistance hotfix on February 10, devs have now delivered the first-ever patch, Update 1.05, for their third-person action game. The comprehensive patch comes with an original Alpine Gorge map for the No Cross multiplayer mode, alongside two other maps returning from Sniper Elite 5. These include the Pest Control map and the Deathmatch map, which were available in the previous game’s survival mode and deathmatch mode, respectively.

There are also a host of performance optimizations and bug fixes in the latest Sniper Elite: Resistance patch. These changes resolve a plethora of issues, ranging from the FPS issue while playing with keyboard and mouse to the various technical problems affecting the K98, M1935, and M1911 guns. Additionally, the UI and localization of the sniper game have also been made better.

On top of that, Rebellion Developments has ironed out the creases in several single-player missions in the new Sniper Elite title, including the very first “Behind Enemy Lines” mission as well as another that takes place later in the story, such as the “End of the Line” mission. On the multiplayer front, a number of graphical issues and gameplay bugs have been resolved across different modes and different maps, from the texture glitches in River Front and Destroyed Town to the missing prompts in Chateau Grounds and Fortress Command.

Post the arrival of the latest patch, Sniper Elite: Resistance players may expect a significant bump in the game’s performance across its various modes. As Rebellion takes care of the rough edges, it is safe to assume the work on the game’s post-launch content is also underway, given that Season Pass buyers are expected to receive additional missions, weapons, and more in the coming months. Resistance‘s first DLC content, the Hitler-based Lights, Camera, Achtung mission, was released on February 5, 2025.
