For some players, romance is an integral part of everyone RPG experience. In the midst of saving the world, grinding out enemies, hunting down better gear, and leveling up, some players feel the need to find that special someone for their characters. For many, it is an important part of role-playing within the world of the game.
Many of the more modern ones RPGs have embraced romance and gave players a number of NPCs for their characters to court. Here are some RPGs that have the most options when it comes to courtship, marriage, or just casual flings.

Cyberpunk 2077
Each character feels real and different from each other
The world of Cyberpunk 2077 is full of dangers, dystopias and enemies gunning for V's head. After a mission gone awry, the main character, codenamed V, gets a chip stuck in his head that appears to contain the personality and memories of a dead musician, Johnny Silverhand, and this virtual ghost intends to rewrite all of V's memories and take them over, leaving them only weeks to find a way to stop it.
Cyberpunk 2077 Romance Options Tier List
Romance may only be a small part of the Cyberpunk 2077 experience, but there are a few key characters that stand out to players.
Night City is filled to the brim with quests to complete, cyber psychos to hunt, and people to meet, some of whom, like Judy, Panam, River, Kerry, and a few extras, may even be romanced. The Night City is also home to Joy Toys for players who might be feeling a little lonely but don't want anything too serious.

Romance can be tough but rewarding
Yakuza: Like a dragon is a AAA title with romance options that can benefit the player in the end. Players will explore their family's past, rise in the ranks, and take some much-needed downtime from various activities, such as dating. With six options, players must develop a certain aspect of personality, as well as offer gifts to certain women.
Each character is different and is interested in certain personality quirks, so players should look ahead to what to work with when pursuing. When players reach a certain bond with these characters, they will receive rewards that can help them in the future. They also have the chance to date each character to get the best rewards.

Baldur's Gate 3
All the romance choices are fantastically written and versatile
Larian's encounter D&D-themed RPG is a great example of the famous tabletop game in video game form, following the story of the player character and their companions who have been infected by a mind flayer parasite that will transform them unless they find someone to remove it. Traveling with a companion guarantees that bonds will deepen, and said connections may even blossom beyond friendship.
Even if Baldur's Gate 3 only has six romance options, it's still a well-rounded, good list of romanceable characters. Like most of the RPGs listed, all characters have a specific list of needs that must be met in order to gain a relationship. And like more recent releases of RPGs, these characters are all romantic options, regardless of the player's gender.

Players need to spend time forming romantic bonds

The reissue of Persona 3 Reload changed many things, added new mechanics while tweaking old ones. But the roster of characters never changed, nor did the romantic options players had to choose from.
In order to woo the lady of their choice, players would need to spend time with them to increase their social link while choosing the right dialogue options. Even the Velvet Room guide Elizabeth could be “romanced” in a way, but she wouldn't become the main character's girlfriend quite like the others. Still, each choice brings a different kind of romance, as each character has a unique personality, with different prerequisites.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
All the love interests are very different with branching stories
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a highly acclaimed top-down CRPG that offers players a long 100+ hour campaign, tons of build variations, and layers upon layers of complex systems stacked on top of each other. Companions join the party over the course of the story through various methods. In addition to being allies that help in battle, some of these companions can also be love interests, depending on the decisions the player makes.
In total, there are seven potential romantic partners in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous: six of them are recruitable companions, and one of them is an important NPC that players encounter during the story. Initiating romance requires earning favor with the chosen partner through actions and completed missions. Provided players meet the prerequisites, romance develops over the course of the game, with several branching paths that have wildly different endings depending on the choices made.

The Witcher 3
Players have the choice to dedicate their love or play the field
The Witcher 3 may be surprising to see on this list due to the fact that there are only two well-known romance options; however, there are five minor characters that Geralt can romance that have no effect on the choice to either choose Triss Merigold or rekindle love with Yennefer of Vengeberg.
Sure, players can even choose an eighth option if Geralt ventures into the brothels to enjoy some extra company during his journey. But whether players want to enjoy their time with multiple ladies or just be loyal to one, it's entirely up to them.

Realistic romance routes, with players needing to prove their worth
Divinity Original Sin 2 is a best-selling RPG game on Steam with several different romance options for players to choose from. While there is an option for players to experience the journey on their own, it's always nice to have someone by their side as they travel the world.
Players who want to romance these characters need to focus on their storyline and try to develop a friendship and relationship with them, so it's best to see what it takes to romance them.

Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition
Find love among companions
The first BioWare game to delve into romance, BioWare did it wholeheartedly Baldur's Gate 2. In a world filled with danger and various factions taking their power for good or otherwise, not to mention the evil mage who serves as the main antagonist, the player character can still take the time to woo their fellow travelers if they choose to do so.
The original game consisted of only four romantic companions, but the enhanced edition included four more eligible bachelors and bachelorettes that players could woo while facing the dangers of the world. But there are some gender and race exclusions for some characters. For example, players who want to romance Jaheira must be a male human, elf, half-elf, or halfling, something to consider if the player's eye falls on someone in particular.

Players can choose to date one or more of their friends
Personas 4 is a game about balance. In it, players must devote their time to their studies, delving into the TV world to try to find the culprit of the murders while cultivating their bonds with others to strengthen their personality.
While developing these bonds, players can choose to take things to the next level with the girls they befriend, up to a total of 8 generous options. Each character is completely distinct and embodies a different personality that players can like or dislike depending on their taste. If they're having a hard time choosing, they can date more than one, but most girls don't take too kindly to this decision, resulting in a sad Valentine's Day for everyone involved.
