Resident Evil Requiem will contain Leon Kennedy "much more" than Grace Ashcroft

Resident Evil Requiem was announced during the Summer Game Fest, with a revealing trailer that introduced the new character Grace Ashcroft.
Grace looks to be quite important to the story, but Insider Dusk Golem has repeated that Leon Kennedy is still the main character of the game, and that we will play like him “much more” than Grace.
They also claim that Raccoon City is “not the primary attitude” for Resident Evil Requiem, and that it is just a place that we will visit throughout the game.

After grazing us a couple of times and being much more coy than they needed to be, Capcom finally put us all out of our misery during the Summer Game Fest by announcing Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth main line in the series. Before the show, it had been claimed by reputable Capcom Insider Dusk Golem that Resident Evil Requiem would start Leon Kennedy, but the game's first trailer suggested everything but.

Instead, the revealing trailer seemed to focus on a character called Grace Ashcroft, who is the daughter of Resident Evil outbreak star Alyssa Ashcroft. It even has a mysterious man in a chair – which we can assume will be a villain of some kind – claims that Grace Ashcroft is “the one I have been looking for” and “special”.

Despite all this, Dusk Golem is still quite adamant that Leon Kennedy is considered the protagonist of Resident Evil Requiem, and that we will play like him “much more” than Grace Ashcroft. They also claim that Leon is actually in Resident Evil Requiem trailer, although it is not quite obvious, and that the game's focus on Leon will be clearer in future marketing.

Interestingly, Dusk Golem also continues to make another statement that seems to be contrary to what was shown in Resident Evil Requiem's trailer. In response to a Twitter user who complains of seemingly going back to Raccoon City, Dusk Golem claims that it is “not the primary attitude”, and that it will simply be a place visited throughout the game.

Of course, it makes you wonder exactly where the game will be set, or if it will be full Resident Evil 6 and let us travel everywhere. It was rumored that Resident Evil 9 would not play like the more modern Resi titles, or even remakes, as the twilight Golem claimed that the game will be a “big resume” for the series. We will only find out what it means when we get more information about the game, probably later this year.
