Release date for Elden Ring Switch 2 Edition seems leaked

Even though we're going four plus years since Elden Ring first graced our consoles back in 2022, the FromSoftware title has never left its most hardcore fans, and in fact, Elden Ring fever is about to pick up again.

One, because Alex Garland of Warfare, Civil War and 28 Years Later fame is directing a live-action adaptation of the video game. And two, because the Nintendo Switch 2 has yet to receive its previously announced port.

Things for the Switch 2 side could be changing relatively soon, as PNP Games, a Canadian video game and collectibles retailer, may have inadvertently leaked the release date for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.

As first spotted on Reddit, the title will apparently launch as a game keycard on July 10, which is a Friday, a day that most modern video games are often released on.

At the time of writing, the release date still appears on the PNP website and has not yet been removed. For those who haven't been keeping up, the Tarnished Edition of Elden Ring will pack the following:

The original game, the 'Shadow of the Erdtree' expansion and a new armor and customization features for Torrent's appearance.

A month ago, Amazon opened up pre-orders for Elden Ring's Switch 2 port on its website, though that listing didn't include a release date. There's still no release date on Amazon's site, but that could obviously change once a release date is formally announced.

Ring of Fire reaching 30 million sales isn't the end for FromSoftware, it's just the beginning

FromSoftware's success is well deserved and should be focused on, but I just can't wait to see what happens next.

As for when that might be, it's really anyone's guess. Nintendo has been rumored to hold a live presentation in June, so it would be a ripe time for a reveal. But Nintendo also plays by its own rules, as evidenced by the Star Fox reveal.

The Elden Rings Switch 2 port has been highly anticipated

With the Switch 2's increased power, fans have been clamoring for more third-party releases, and none have been as highly anticipated as Elden Ring. After all, what could be better than playing FromSoftware on the go? Nothing, that's what.

However, the title's port was delayed, likely for optimization, and Bandai Namco remained mostly silent. It reappeared earlier this year at the Game Developers' Conference (GDC) and fared noticeably better, both docked and handheld.

That pre-orders went live and a release date seems to have leaked should only add to the speculation that it's ready to go.
