PlayStation Plus subscribers will lose access to 9 more games in December 2025, including some notable titles such as Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition, Sonic Frontiersand Forbiddeninter alia. The next set of games leaving PlayStation Plus will only affect those who subscribe to the Extra or Premium tiers of the service, as Essential users won't have access to the ever-changing game catalog.
In 2022, PlayStation made some big changes to its popular subscription service, PS Plus, splitting it into three separate tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. While those who subscribe to the latter two tiers get access to a huge catalog of video games, among many other benefits, PS Plus Essential subscribers get free monthly games to keep (as long as their subscription is active), online multiplayer, discounts, cloud storage and more. Extra and Premium subscribers get the exact same benefits as Essential, with the addition of the game catalog and more.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will have to say goodbye to 9 more games in December, as the service will be removed Forspoken, Battlefield 2042, Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition, Sonic Frontiers, Surviving Mars, Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, Firefighting Simulator: The Squadand Arcade Paradise VR. Many of these titles are playable on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, while others are exclusive to PSVR and PSVR2. Many fans have pointed out that this is yet another month where PlayStation has removed VR games from the service without adding the same numbers back.
While game removal is always disappointing, the good news is that November 18th will be a big day for PS Plus subscribers. Rockstar Games success Grand Theft Auto 5 is set to return to duty, alongside Pacific Drive, Still Wakes the Deep, MotoGP 25and more. For Premium subscribers, who get exclusive access to the classic game catalog, Tomb Raider: Anniversary will also be made available. Those who subscribe to PS Plus Essential will have to wait until December for their next batch of games to roll around.
Many games may leave PS Plus Extra and Premium in December, but the service is also preparing to add another big title on December 2. As confirmed by Rockstar Games last week, Red Dead Redemption coming to PS Plus Extra next month. If this wasn't already exciting enough, it will be the recently announced upgraded version of the Red Dead Redemptionwhich includes 60 FPS, enhanced graphics, HDR support and 4K resolution on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
