One of the most unique transformations in Dragon Ball history is making its way into Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, marking the second time a game has ever included it.
Unsurprisingly, given how important they are to the series, Dragon Ball has one pulp of transformations. From all four levels of Super Saiyan to the newer variants God and Blue, Goku and the gang have been shown to rise to many different levels over the past 42 years, with new forms even popping up all the time later on.
But as much as I love seeing Super Saiyans, arguably the most interesting transformations in Dragon Ball are the ones that aren't talked about as much. By far the best example of this is False Super Saiyan, a fan-named transformation that appeared in a single movie and was quickly released. Now, 25 years later, that form is making a comeback.

However, it's not quite as playable as everyone thinks
For those who don't know, the False Super Saiyan is a transformation that appeared very briefly in the Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug movie and contained many of the same elements as the real Super Saiyan. It's anger-based, sees Goku's hair change with the form, and even has the same kind of powerful aura as the Super Saiyan, albeit with unique white eyes.
The False Super Saiyan appeared in the Lord Slug movie about two weeks before the true form was introduced in the manga, meaning the fake version was basically completely dropped and left for fans to mourn. It made it quite a surprise when the latest trailer for Sparking Zero's major DLC confirmed that the form will return for the game.
The trailer shows Goku being able to transform into False Super Saiyan while wearing one of his new costumes in the DLC, a tattered outfit from the Lord Slug movie. It's pretty clear that the form is just part of an ultimate move and not a playable transformation as some were hoping, but it's still a very cool inclusion.
It's also another sign that Dragon Ball has become a little less restrictive lately and is more capable of including such a deep cut from the series' past. It's a small inclusion in the grand scheme of things, but still a treat for longtime Dragon Ball fans like myself who remember all the AMVs about real Super Saiyan form.
