The Pokemon Let's Go games is hosting a brand new distribution event that will give fans a chance to pick up the elusive Melta, but only in one region of the world. The game pair with a return to the Kanto region served as the first major Pokémon released on the Nintendo Switch and packed with plenty of departures from previous games. The Let's Go games boasted a brand new capture mechanic similar to Pokémon GOalong with wild Pokémon roaming the game world and the removal of Kanto's HMs. Now the games are getting a brand new event in China.

Despite Pokemon Let's Go game released nearly six years ago worldwide, fans in China recently got the chance to experience Pokémon GO-inspired adventure. Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's go Eevee finally saw a release in China late last month, following approvals from the Chinese government to sell Pokémon games in the country. As a result, the Chinese versions have already caught up with the global versions and tried to give Chinese fans everything they missed. Now fans in China are getting a new Mythical Pokémon.

Players of the popular mobile game Pokemon GO are surprised by the recent discovery of being able to access China in the game.

As reported by GoNintendo, The Pokemon Company recently announced a special new distribution promotion for Pokemon Let's Go games in China. For a limited time, fans of Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's go Eevee will be able to acquire Meltan with a special distribution code, exclusive to the Chinese versions. Fans looking to pick up Meltan will need to have a Nintendo Switch from the China region to get the Pokémon, with the code set to work until April 30, 2025.

Meltan's addition to the Chinese version of the Pokemon Let's Go comes as Pokémon has been one of the franchise's most elusive. Meltan is still only available through Pokémon GOwhich requires fans to complete a series of special research quests to obtain Pokémon. The melta can only be taken in Pokémons main game by transferring it to Let's go game and then use Pokemon home to bring Meltan to eighth generation gaming. Meltan is currently not available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.


The Pokemon Let's Go the games newfound availability in China comes as the games have been the subject of many rumors. Speculation swirled earlier this year that The Pokemon Company might develop Johto sequels to Let's go game, although nothing has come of those rumors yet. The Pokemon Company has also already announced the next big game in the franchise, confirming that Pokemon Legends: ZA as a follow-up to the 2022 century Pokemon Legends: Arceus. While nothing new Let's go game might come, Pokémon looks to have a lot in store for fans.
