After the end of April's event, Niantic reveals details about what Pokémon GO players can catch when Community Day rolls around in May. With just a couple of weeks left in April, Niantic has started sharing some of the bigger limited-time events coming next month. For many players, Community Day is one of the bigger monthly events in the Pokémon GOand highlights a special pocket monster with better-than-usual odds of potentially finding a shiny variant.
In fact, players have just experienced April's Community Day event in Pokémon GOwhich contained the steel river type Tinkatink. Originally debuted in the 9th generation series, Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers who were able to evolve Tinkatink from Tinkatuff and then into Tinkaton during the event could unlock its featured charge attack, the Gigaton Hammer. In addition to the featured Pokemon, Community Day usually has tons of bonuses too, like double candy, triple Stardust from catches, and more. For the next Community Day event, it seems fans won't have to leave the Paldea region for the next featured Pokémon.

In a recent blog post, Pokémon GO revealed that Lechonk will be the featured creature during May's Community Day event. Nicknamed the Hog Pokémon, Lechonk made its debut in Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwhich takes place in the Paldea region. The Normal-type can be found fairly early in that game in a place called Poco Path, and it evolves fairly early into Oinkologne at level 18. As a Normal-type, it's kind of a jack of all trades, master of non-style Pokémon, with a weakness only to Fighting-types, while resisting Ghost moves. The male and female versions also differ in style, with the blacker males having ears for eyes, while the browner females have shorter ears and a different tail.
In terms of Pokémon GOLechonk's Community Day will have some perks for players who participate. During the event or up to 4 hours after it ends, players who evolve Lechonk into Oinkologne will learn the fast Mud Slap attack. The move has 11 power vs trainers, while it jumps to 19 in raids and gym battles.
As expected, the Community Day in May will also have many active bonuses. Players can use a regular Lure at any Pokestop to not only spawn more Lechonk, but increase the odds of a shiny or special background version appearing. During the event, players can also take advantage of a 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance, double candy for catching Pokemon, a 3 hour incense timer, and double the chance to find Candy XL for players above level 31. For those looking for a little more, there will be special research available from Pokémon GOs game store.
