Popular Jerk off streamer Kai Cenat is being sued by a man who claims he was assaulted by Cenat's security staff in 2025. The lawsuit names the Twitch streamer, his bodyguard and Cenat's talent agency as defendants in connection with an incident at a Dominican Day celebration.
Kai Cenat is easily one of the most popular creators in the streaming industry with millions of followers. Cenat has more than 20 million followers on Twitch and became the first streamer on the platform to surpass 1 million subscribers. The streamer's overwhelming popularity on Twitch has even led to recognition from major games and brands, including Kai Cenat getting his own Fortnite skin in September 2025 as part of the game's “Icon Series”. But now Kai Cenat has found himself at the center of a lawsuit alleging physical abuse by a member of his security detail.
Kai Cenat and his talent agency are being sued
Dustin Batista, a resident of the Bronx, filed a lawsuit in Bronx County Superior Court in June 2026, regarding an incident that allegedly took place in July 2025. The suit alleges that Cenat's personal bodyguard, Lamont Gilbert, “punched, punched and assaulted” Batista while participating in a Dominican Day parade, which was previously held during the Gilbert Day parade. Batista claims the incident not only caused him multiple physical injuries, but also resulted in medical expenses, lost earnings and a “diminished enjoyment of life.” The legal complaint against the Twitch streamer does not specify how much money Batista is seeking, suing for damages, legal costs and more.

Cenat and Lamont Gilbert aren't the only parties named in the assault lawsuit. Batista named Night, Inc., the talent agency that manages Kai Cenat's streaming activities, as one of the defendants in the case, suggesting that the company should be held accountable for its choice of security personnel. The suit also names the security contractor who provided Gilbert as security for the event, seeking to hold the company accountable for the actions of its employees. The organization was not named in the original legal complaint, and Batista plans to amend the lawsuit once the company's identity is discovered.
Kai Cenat's new legal troubles come as the content creator has stepped away from regular content creation in 2026. Cenat confirmed in January that he would be taking an extended break from regular live streams, following the conclusion of the hugely successful Mafiathon 3. The break was said to be focused on Kai Cenat launching his own clothing brand, inspired by a trip to Italy. Cenat also launched the second iteration of its popular Streamer University event in July 2026, with a third event planned for a European location.
Cenat is far from the first streamer to find himself in legal disputes, both with other streamers and local authorities. Mizkif has been at the center of a major legal battle within the streaming community, suing both Emiru and Asmongold for what he claims are false allegations of sexual abuse that have damaged his reputation. Controversial Twitch streamer Johnny Somali was even jailed in South Korea after being arrested for several crimes, including “specific acts of sexual violence” and “obstruction of business.” Kai Cenat's new legal dispute could prove to be a major dilemma for one of Twitch's biggest talents.
