Pokemon GO fan has a valid complaint about community days

A Pokémon GO fan makes a strong case about the timing of the game's monthly Community Day event, raising valid health concerns with the event. Pokémon GOs Community Day event has been held at the same time of day since 2022.

Community Days have been among the most popular recurring events in the mobile spin-off of the beloved monster-catching franchise. Each month puts a different Pokémon in the spotlight for a limited time, with Niantic usually sharing the dates of future Community Day events months in advance. The monthly events feature both increased spawn rates and Shiny prices for the spotlight Pokémon, and also gain access to a special Charged Attack when it evolves to its final stage during the event. However, a fan has a valid reason Pokémon GO should consider changing the times for Community Days.

Pokemon GO Reveals July 2026 Community Day Pokemon

Niantic reveals a new Community Day event for July, as Pokemon GO shines the spotlight on a fan favorite from the Galar region.

Pokémon GO fan Common_Race_8396 shared his complaints about the timing of Community Day events on the game's subreddit. The poster mentions that they live in a rural southern town, presumably in the US, and shares that the temperature during Community Days can get as high as 93°F, or about 34°C. The Reddit user shared that their phone started slowing down significantly as a result of overheating just 20 minutes after leaving their house to attend the event. The post suggests that the high temperatures during the summer months can endanger the health of players when they try to play Pokémon GOwhich increases the risk of heat exhaustion during Community Day.

The comments on the post were filled with other fans echoing the recurring problems with Community Day scheduling. One commenter suggested it Pokémon GOs Community Day event should run throughout the day, which has been a common request from players. Another user suggested a “rain check” for Community Day that would allow fans to start the event at a different time or on a different day, useful for both the original heat complaint and for inclement weather. However, others suggested that the original poster should consider driving to somewhere that has an indoor place for them to play Pokémon GO.

The proposed changes come as Pokémon GO continues to contain a variety of time-specific events. Hatch Day events run on similar schedules to the game's Community Days, with fans encouraged to get out and about with reduced hatch distance and increased XP and Stardust. Pokémon GOs Spotlight Hours also run for specific windows on Thursdays, with the events typically having significantly increased spawn rates lasting only an hour.

Pokémon GO looks to have a busy summer ahead for fans with plenty of exciting events on the schedule for the spin-off. Niantic started the 2026 century Pokémon GO Party in June, with several in-person events in cities like Chicago, Copenhagen and Tokyo. The global version of the event will run over the weekend of July 11-12, adding Mega Mewtwo X and Y to the game for the first time. The event also offers increased spawns for several select Pokemon, including three different Pikachu variants wearing the hats Pokémon GOs team and the Kanto starters wearing Pikachu visors. Pokémon GO Fest 2026 should offer plenty of incentive for fans to get out and play.
