GTA 6 Cover Reveal already has almost 10 million views

Grand Theft Auto 6's cover reveal and pre-order date trailer may have only been a little over 30 seconds long, but it's still already racked up more views than almost all of this month's biggest reveals.

As the whole world has been painfully aware since Trailer 2 was released more than a year ago, the whole world has been absolutely desperate for any kind of news about GTA 6. Despite all the demands for a third trailer and more information, Rockstar has been completely silent during that time, leaving us to continue to hear Take-Two promises that another delay won't happen.

That finally changed a few days ago when Rockstar decided to drop a bombshell on GTA 6 fans with an incredibly short trailer that revealed the game's cover, its main theme, and a fast-approaching pre-order date of June 25th. Although the trailer was so short it could have been just an email, the power of GTA has already caused it to eclipse most of this month.

Only one game waiting… For now

As Twitter user SynthPotato pointed out, Rockstar's official YouTube upload of the Grand Theft Auto 6 cover reveal has already managed to rack up nearly nine million views since going live two days ago. That number continues to steadily increase, which is pretty impressive considering the trailer is only a little over 30 seconds long.

SynthPotato also pointed out that this view count means that the new GTA 6 trailer has already managed to beat the lengthy God of War Laufey reveal that debuted at PlayStation's State of Play showcase. While Synth suggests this makes it the most watched trailer in a stacked month of game reveals, that's actually not the case.

As we reported earlier this month after most of the big summer gaming parties had been and gone, there was a trailer that surprisingly led the pack as the biggest reveal of the season. I'm talking, of course, about Spyro: A Realm Beyond, which led the pack a few weeks ago with over 10 million views.

Now, more than a week later, Spyro's next game still stands as the biggest announcement of the Summer Game Fest with a whopping 16 million views, almost double what the GTA 6 reveal trailer currently has. While the power of GTA is clearly very strong, it hasn't been enough yet to overtake Spyro as the most viewed trailer of the month.
