Conqueror's Haki, also known as the Color of the Supreme King, is one of the strongest abilities found in the world of One Piece. Was properly introduced in series i One Piece chapter 597 on August 30, 2010, this ability is said to exist in only one in a million people. As such, not everyone continues to awaken this power.
Within the Straw Hat Pirates, three individuals are known to have the color of the Supreme King, they are Monkey D Luffy, who awakened it long before the time jump, Roronoa Zoro, who officially used it for the first time in One Piece chapter 1010 against Kaido and Sanji, who were confirmed to hold the latent Conqueror's Haki i One Piece chapter 1187 on July 5, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #32. With 3 conquerors already on board, Eiichiro Oda is potentially preparing for another straw hat to get the suit of supreme king. This character is none other than Usopp, whose character arc can only be completed by him awakening the ultimate conquering power in the world of One Piece.
Eiichiro Oda has heralded Supreme King Haki for Usopp after Sanji
Usopp is one of the weakest characters in the Straw Hat Pirates, and along with Nami and Chopper, he is often lumped into the Straw Hats Weakling Trio. However, Usopp's personal nature sees him aiming to become a brave warrior of the sea. To that end, Eiichiro Oda has crafted a carefully written storyline around his character, which sees him rise through shame and failure to glory, growing in confidence and abilities with each passing arc.

Usopp's character is also directly linked to his lies. Often the lies that Usopp tells turn out to be true, and this has happened at various times in the story. In the Syrup Village arc, Usopp's lie about pirates attacking the village became true when Captain Kuro unleashed his power. Similarly, Usopp's stories to Kaya about goldfish droppings being mistaken for islands also came true. Usopp's statement that there is a cure for all diseases was also foreshadowed to be true by the character of Dr. Hiriluk in the Drum Island arc.

In Dressrosa, more specifically in One Piece Chapter 713, which was officially released on July 8, 2013, revealed Usopp that he had the color of the Supreme King, causing huge tremors in the land of Tontatta. This was Eiichiro Oda's first foreshadowing of Usopp holding the Conqueror's Haki through a lie. Later down the line, the author doubled down on Usopp holding the Color of the Supreme King in One Piece chapter 1024 on September 6, 2021. In this chapter, Usopp falsely claimed to the Warriors of Wano that his Conqueror's Haki was causing all the tremors in the Performance Floor of Onigashima, when in reality it was Ha Big Mom's. This was one of the biggest reasons why Usopp got his 500 million bear prize in the first place. As such, Eiichiro Oda's gag with Usopp could potentially come true by giving him the Supreme King suit.

Usopp's character will only be completed after awakening the suit of the supreme king
Usopp's character arc is quite strange. His dream as a Straw Hat is to become a brave warrior of the sea, but right now his character is anything but brave. As long as Usopp remains weak, he can never truly be brave, and even after that, it's highly likely that his character will be full of doubt, as that is his true charm. Interestingly enough, completely erasing this doubt means awakening full strength, and this was confirmed by Rayleigh in One Piece Chapter 597 on August 30, 2010. This can only happen with The Color of the Supreme King, and when Usopp awakens this power, his doubts will be erased, and he will truly become a brave warrior of the sea.

Of course, there's no guarantee that Eiichiro Oda will give him this power, but at least it's set up, and he's in contention for it. Of the remaining Straw Hats, Usopp is by far the strongest candidate for the Supreme King suit, and it will be interesting to see if the writer ends up giving him this power or not.
Other Straw Hats that could hold Supreme King Haki
While Usopp is the character most likely to awaken the color of the Supreme King, there are others who could also hold onto this power. The primary candidate would be the next potential Straw Hat, Loki. Loki has already demonstrated the ability to use the Supreme King's Color, and if he joins the Straw Hat Pirates, he will become their fourth Conqueror's Haki user. There is also Gunko, who is not only a sky dragon but also a royalty as the princess of Esperia Kingdom. She could potentially awaken Supreme King Haki through her bloodline, assuming she joins the Straw Hat Pirates after the events of Elbaf.
The same case can also be made for Jewelry Bonney, who is also royalty and has huge potential. Finally, a small case can be made for Nami to be able to use this ability as well. In One Piece Chapter 1058, which was officially released on August 28, 2022, Eiichiro Oda jokingly portrayed her as having the color of the Supreme King. Maybe this gag can again be turned into a serious plot point by the writer in the future, but the chances of that happening are still low. Currently, the most likely Supreme King Haki user in the Straw Hat Pirates after Sanji is either Usopp or a new member of the crew joining after Elbaf.
