Sony Playstation has revealed its very own set of wireless speakers, called Pulse Elevate. Among other functions, these new Playstation speakers are designed to work with several types of units, with low latency, AI technology and more.
For most players, Audio is a huge part of the gaming experience, with everything from spellplay sound effects to sweeping music motifs included. How a player chooses to hear that sound, on the other hand, is a completely different issue. Headphones or low quality speakers can bury some important elements in the game's sound, and Pulse Elevate looks like to solve many of the sound problems that players have when playing.
Playstation introduces Pulse Elevate speakers
During the Playstation State of Play, a new speaker collection was revealed called Pulse Elevate. These new speakers are wireless and are designed to work with the PS5 family of gaming consoles, including Playstation Portal, as well as PC and Mac units. These speakers are designed to deliver ultra-low latency sounds to ensure that there is no delay between what you see and hear. With built-in Woofers for base and support for Tempest 3D audiotecch on compatible PS5 games, Playstation describes the new speakers as being able to play back sounds as game developers thought it would sound. The speakers can even be tilted to ensure that the sound is focused on being heard best where a player is located in the room, and EQ adjustments will be available through system menus on PS5 and PC.
Outside just playing sounds from their game, Pulse Elevate has a number of interesting features. Pulse -heighted speakers can connect to PS5, PC and Mac via the Playstation link, but can at the same time connect to Bluetooth, which allows users to listen to sounds from two different devices at once, such as a phone call or music on the Bluetooth side and gaming sounds come from the console or computer. The speakers will also contain a USB-C connector and charge bridges to make it easy to charge the speakers when their battery has been dropped. “AI-enhanced noise rejection technology” allows the built-in microphone to remove as much background noise as possible when sending a user's voice to other players, making the speakers a viable choice over the game head.
Currently, the pulse rise speakers are planned to launch with two color options, namely midnight black and white. The speakers will be released in 2026, with more information about the launch date that arrives “in the coming months”, according to Playstation.
