New Star Fox Update from Original Leaker

The insider who leaked the existence of a brand new Star Fox game has shared an update on it after previously claiming it would be revealed sometime last month.

A few months ago, we had no idea what Nintendo had planned for the second half of 2026, and it was starting to look like it could be a bit of a quiet year for the Switch 2. That all changed when reliable insider NateTheHate dropped some massive bombshells, including the existence of a Legend of Zelda remake coming at the end of the year.

While a Zelda remake sounds very cool, the biggest surprise Nate shared was that a new Star Fox game was not only in development, but planned to be revealed very soon and launched within this year. Nate said earlier that April was when the new Star Fox game was announced, but now we're in May, it's pretty clear that didn't happen.

Insider Says New Star Fox Revealed in April Was 'Off the Mark'

“It's a miss of mine”

As pointed out by Insider Gaming, NateTheHate has been getting a ton of questions on Twitter about the new Star Fox game and why it hasn't been revealed in April as he previously predicted. Last week, Nate said that April was the “intended window for the announcement” and that he doesn't know if that was changed internally.

If more video game remakes are on the way, it's time to start remaking bad games

Good games already had their fun. Now it's the bad game's turn.

More recently, Nate responded to a comment asking for an update, saying that he doesn't “doubt the game's existence,” noting that other outlets and people have been talking about the game since he leaked it. That said, Nate admits the timing of the reveal was “off the mark and wrong,” calling it a “miss” on his part.

It's not clear exactly why the Star Fox announcement didn't happen in April as Nate predicted, but it's possible the timeline simply changed somewhere down the line. There's also a small chance that Nintendo has purposefully pushed it back in response to the game being leaked, but that's just a guess based on how annoyed Nintendo will reportedly be that its plans were leaked.
