New KOTOR artwork released ahead of Star Wars Day

Knights of the Old Republic fans are a resilient bunch. They've seen their favorite stories removed from the Star Wars canon, only to be constantly teased with the idea of The Redemption of Revan being adapted and reintroduced into the story. But after years of waiting, Revan's story is still nowhere to be seen – nor is the long-awaited KOTOR remake that many of us just assume is no longer happening.

However, that may be about to change. Lucasfilm has released official artwork for Star Wars Day 2026, and lo and behold, KOTOR characters have made it. And it's not just Revan; here we get a look at Bastila, Jolee Bindo and HK-47. There's even Lana Beniko from The Old Republic MMO, giving the era a surprising amount of representation this Star Wars Day.

Will we finally get some KOTOR news this Star Wars Day?

The artwork features several characters from the Star Wars games, so it's not too surprising to see KOTOR included. In fact, both KOTOR games are currently included in the Star Wars Day Steam sale, so maybe that's the only reason they're included.

But the fact remains that this is a new look at the characters, and a rare example of them getting new art right now. It might just be crumbs, but the fact that they're even bothering with new art might mean that Revan and the gang haven't been forgotten, and there are still plans for them.

In fact, the latest rumor going around is that the KOTOR Remake will be revealed again this year, after years of development hell. What better day to do it than May 4th? In fact, it has even been claimed that Disney also wants a remake of KOTOR 2 alongside the first game. Anyway, the official line is that it's still in development, at least according to developer Saber Interactive.

We also get a spiritual successor with Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. While this is being done by KOTOR director Casey Hudson, it doesn't seem like this will have too much to do with his previous work, so don't go into it expecting a sequel.
