Forza Horizon 6 reveals multiplayer game modes and content

Horizon game! is the multiplayer suite that comes inside Forza Horizon 6with Playground Games fully revealing all the content and modes players can expect to see at launch. As Forza Horizon 6 continues to approach its May 19 release date, developer Playground Games continues to peel back the layers of the game, slowly revealing new features and content that fans will be able to interact with as they drive through the landscapes of Japan.

Fans have known since the debut trailer, and perhaps even longer thanks to numerous leaks, that Forza Horizon 6 would go to Japan. Earlier this year, Playground Games teased various biomes in Japan in short videos, highlighting the coastline, alpine regions, lowlands and more. Although it's just a hint of things to come, last month Playground finally revealed the full game map and the roads, which span a huge amount of space and different biomes from the neon-drenched streets of Tokyo to the winding roads deep in the forests, there seems to be something for everyone. The same can be said for the multiplayer side of the game, which has just been fully revealed.

Forza Horizon 6 Reveals Horizon Play Multiplayer Suite

The latest news for Forza Horizon 6 related to its multiplayer offering, a suite of content called Horizon Play! Multiplayer has become a standard from before Horizon game, and it looks like Playground is making sure the latest game in the series checks all those boxes on Day 1. In a new post on social media, Playground Games revealed what appears to be the in-game menu for Horizon Play, the game's multiplayer feature. Players can see things like the XP bar for leveling up, the account's current level and rank, as well as a variety of game modes available, with teases for even more hidden beneath the scroll bar.

In addition to custom options, Horizon Play features a mix of new and returning modes. In fact, previous post-launch add-ons like Hide & Seek in Forza Horizon 5 are now available at launch. There are classic modes such as Horizon Racing and The Eliminator, a popular battle royale-style mode that allows players to race from point A to point B in a section of the game's map with various upgraded cars as the losing drivers are eliminated.

But there are also a number of new game modes in Forza Horizon 6including Spec Racing and Touge Showdown. The former is described as a mode that includes dirt and road racing, although the catch is that all players use the same car to level the playing field. As for Touge Showdown, it's a 1v1 mode that rotates around five different preset mountain routes and appears to be based on the single player versions.

While Microsoft may be changing the way it handles exclusive first-party products and their availability on rival platforms like the PlayStation, Forza Horizon 6 remains a multi-platform title. It makes sense considering how good Forza Horizon 5 has sold on the PlayStation 5, so Microsoft wouldn't want to lose that revenue stream. It seems though Forza Horizon 6 is skipping PS5 at launch and following in the footsteps of its predecessor by launching on PC and Xbox Series X/S on May 19, but PS5 fans will have to wait a bit longer for the racing title to reach their system of choice.
