The Boruto series picks up steam in the Two Blue Vortex series, as a new arc is officially underway following the latest release in V-Jump Issue #7 on May 20, 2026. Fans have a lot of exciting things to look forward to in the series, and at the same time, a new one is added to the mix Boruto guidebook, which is also the most comprehensive guidebook in the Naruto series. This guidebook was officially released in Japan on June 4, 2026.
This new Boruto guide went through the various events that took place in Part 1 of the series, leading up to the events of Two Blue Vortex. It expanded character arcs, abilities, and even confirmed power levels for various characters, including Konoha's Seventh Hokage and everyone's favorite – Naruto Uzumaki. While Naruto was always known to be a significant threat to anyone who would dare threaten the Ninja world, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex latest release officially confirms that he is at a level where he can shake dimensions himself.
New Boruto Guidebook Confirms Naruto Uzumaki Holds Dimension Shattering Power
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex The latest guidebook, which was officially released on June 4, 2026, specifically focused a lot on the 7th Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Firstly, Naruto was declared as the strongest shinobi, and at the same time, his various battles were covered in great detail in this guidebook. The latest version of the Boruto guidebook showcased Naruto's clash with Jigen. This clash officially took place in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 38, which was released on September 20, 2019, and featured both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha completely overwhelmed by the Jigen.
“Naruto, this guy is seriously bad news, and we must do whatever it takes to defeat him here and now.” — Sasuke steels himself to face Jigen, Boruto Chapter #38
However, it must be remembered that in order for Jigen to beat Naruto and Sasuke, he had to absorb a significant portion of the chakra from the 10 tails, and he secreted so much chakra that he ended up running dry before the battle was even fully finished. In a fair one-on-one against Jigen, either Naruto or Sasuke would have been able to do a good job, and it was specifically stated in the last guidebook that both Jigen and Naruto had dimension shattering powers. This is significant in terms of the overall power scaling of the Naruto-verse.
“A clash that transcends dimensions!! Naruto Uzumaki vs Jigen!” — Boruto Guidebook
Naruto Uzumaki went on to reach extremely high levels of strength with the Six Paths Sage Mode when he met Hagoromo Otsutsuki in Naruto Chapter 670, released in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #18 on April 14, 2014. In this chapter, Naruto Uzumaki's power was given half that of a god and Sagle Uzumaki's. His strength became so high that he was able to overwhelm Madara Uchiha and, in some cases, even Kaguya Otsutsuki. What the latest version of the Boruto guide book confirms is that Naruto continued to grow stronger. His power reached such a level in adulthood that he could shake dimensions themselves by exuding some of his energy, and it is truly terrifying.

Boruto officially confirms a new power up for Sasuke Uchiha
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Volume 8 has officially confirmed a major power-up for Sasuke Uchiha from the timeskip.
Why Naruto's power as an adult puts him above most Otsutsuki
Naruto Uzumaki's powers i Boruto comics are overwhelming right from the start. In fact, his strength is such that Naruto needed to get considerably nervous before every battle. For example, in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 8, which was released on May 4, 2017, Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha take on the fused Momoshiki, but both legends of Konoha are nervous in a significant way. For Naruto, exactly half of his chakra is already taken in by Momoshiki, which not only strengthens him but also weakens him considerably.
“What a huge amount of chakra. We're only halfway done! This is taking too much time.” — Momoshiki Otsutsuki when he took half of Naruto's chakra, Boruto Chapter 7
Similarly, Sasuke Uchiha had to use Space-Time Ninjutsu to travel to a whole new dimension with about nine people with him. This also weakens Sasuke, putting him at about half his energy. With both Naruto and Sasuke weakened, Momoshiki finally had a chance against them, but was still completely overwhelmed.
Likewise, in the Jigen battle, both Naruto and Sasuke were nerfed significantly, and against Isshiki something similar happened. In the end, Naruto and Sasuke became so strong that they both had to be nervous about having their strongest abilities taken away from them. In Boruto Chapter 55, officially released in V Jump Issue #4 on February 19, 2021, Naruto Uzumaki officially lost the power of Kurama. Likewise, Sasuke Uchiha also lost the power of the Rinnegan in Two Blue Vertex Chapter #54. All this is to show that in adulthood Naruto and Sasuke had reached such a level that the writers had no choice but to nerd them out and remove them from the story to give the next generation a chance to do something and shine on their own.

Naruto Uzumaki's fate in two blue vortex after his return
Both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha were cut out of history in different ways. In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 77, the Seventh Hokage was officially sealed by Kawaki with the power of the Daikokuten. Meanwhile, for Sasuke, it was officially confirmed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5, which was released in V-jump Issue #2 on December 20, 2023, that he was taken out by Code and turned into a tree, which served the DNA for the creation of Hidari, one of the strongest characters in the entire series.
“You are my father's student. Normally, it would be ideal if you freed him and let him train you directly. But that is not a realistic option.” Boruto Teases Naruto's Return, Two Blue Vortex Chapter 15
Both Naruto and Sasuke are not active in the Boruto series right now, but in the future they will surely play a significant role. With each arc that passes, the return of Naruto and Sasuke gets closer. As for Sasuke Uchiha, his return is closer than ever before, with Boruto's new arc set to focus on Hidari's defeat and the Uchiha's official return. Meanwhile, Naruto's return is also getting closer, and once he returns, he will surely play a significant role again.
With the new generation of ninja now stronger than ever, the old generation doesn't have to be down anymore. As such, they will all get to show off their true powers and go up against strong foes, such as Otsutsuki. We absolutely cannot wait to see what Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto end up doing with the characters of Naruto and Sasuke moving forward, and hopefully they will gain significant abilities and participate in important battles that shape the overall story of the Boruto series.
