Jump Victory Carnival 2026 is currently being held in Osaka for its second and final day, and as promised, Toyotarou is in attendance signing autographs for fans. The Dragon Ball Super manga has been on hiatus since February 2025, but Toyotarou has dropped countless hints that the series will be back, right down to confirming on X that “everything is for the series to return.” With this in mind, Jump Victory Carnival 2026 announced that Toriyama would reveal new art.
Before Dragon Ball SuperToyotarou's official return this fall has drawn artwork by the most powerful God in Universe 7 – and perhaps the entire multiverse after Zeno – Beerus himself. The Dragon Ball Super remake will be named after Beerus, suggesting that he will play a much larger role than he did in both the anime and manga. With Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol rumored to premiere afterwards Dragon Ball Super: Beerus remake of the Universe 6 Tournament, Toyotarous Beerus art could be a sign that the manga is coming back soon. Doubly so considering the image features a new logo that hasn't been seen anywhere.

Toyotarous Jump Carnival Special Illustration for 2026 was officially revealed as artwork by Beerus. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will air this fall, so it makes sense that Toyotarou would collaborate by showcasing Beerus at his full power. All signs point to Beerus being an even more prominent main character in the remake. Interestingly, Toyotarou's illustration has a brand new logo for Dragon Ball Super which has not been used anywhere else, not even in the next two animes.
Toyotarou previously debuted this new logo late last year for Jump Festa 2026, in an illustration featuring Goten and Trunks. This redesign may well be the manga's new logo, which Toyotarou wouldn't have created if he wasn't actively working on the series. Without Toriyama around to guide him in the right direction, it's a safer option for Toyotarou to work on chapters in one go rather than trying to churn things out week by week. This would explain why the hiatus has been so long, as well as Toyotarou's hint that the Black Frieza Saga is coming soon.
Dragon Ball Super may have a more realistic art style when the manga returns
Toyotarou's art style has evolved a lot since the manga went on hiatus, and it's likely that Dragon Ball Super will look very different when the series returns. Toyotarou's latest art aims for a more realistic and muscular style, versus the softer lines and features that Toyotarou has historically used in manga. Based on how Z-Fighters looks on the cover of Dragon Ball Super Volume 24, Chapter 105 can be opened with characters looking more detailed.
Hopefully it won't be much longer until the manga returns. The Dragon Ball Super The anime is officially back this fall, so the manga coming back along with it would be the perfect form of synergy. More importantly, Toyotarou needs to come back and start releasing chapters for the Black Frieza Saga before the anime reaches Moro. If the manga waits too long, Dragon Ball Super 2 won't be able to keep up without delaying history for years.
