Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is among the hottest manga series in the world. While it is true that the manga has greatly benefited from being the sequel to Naruto, it would be hard to say that Boruto has rode on its predecessor's coattails.
The truth is that Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has made a name for itself by introducing many interesting characters and then pitting them against each other. Another highlight of the series has been the villains, who are almost all armed with ridiculously overpowered abilities. Even now, Boruto and his friends are in a bitter fight against them. However, it is possible that the hero will soon have to fight the biggest villain from Naruto.
Kaguya Otsutsuki is Naruto's strongest villain
Kaguya Otsutsuki was introduced towards the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War. At the time, her introduction raised many questions, and most fans were unhappy with Kishimoto's decision. But now that they've seen so many Otsutsuki in Boruto, the writer's choice doesn't seem too strange. Kaguya's addition was needed to raise the stakes, especially after Naruto and Sasuke received new power-ups from Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
Hagoromo was aware of Kaguya's strength; after all, he was the one who sealed her with the help of Hamura. The two brothers fought tooth and nail for months before finally cornering Kaguya and sealing her with the Six Path's Chibaku Tensei. So Hagoromo knew what Kaguya was capable of, which is why he gave the rest of his powers to Naruto and Sasuke in hopes that they would successfully prevent her from being acquitted. Unfortunately, Black Zetsu was one step ahead of them, and he managed to break Kaguya's seal and release her back into the world.
Within the first few moments it became apparent why Hagoromo was so afraid of his mother. Kaguya's strength was unlike anything the heroes had seen. She was much stronger than Madara Uchiha. The reason for her absurd strength was the Otsutsuki lineage and the fact that she had consumed the chakra fruit many millennia ago. By devouring the fruit, Kaguya became the progenitor of the chakra on earth and gained a plethora of abilities.
Kaguya Otsutsuki remains one of the strongest characters in the series
Kaguya's greatest strength was her outrageous chakra. Being the jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, she had absolutely no shortage of chakra, giving her the freedom to use all kinds of techniques without any drawbacks. For example, Kaguya used Amenominaka, a space-time jutsu that allowed her to switch dimensions instantly. However, unlike normal space-time techniques, Kaguya was not the one transported to another location or dimension. Instead, she added the dimension, which allowed her to catch the enemies off guard. At one point, Kaguya teleported everyone to a lava dimension, nearly killing Naruto and his allies.
All Killing Ash Bones is another special ability in Kaguya's arsenal. In this technique, Kaguya shoots bones from her body, just like Kimimaro's Shikotsumyaku, although her version was far superior. What makes this power particularly deadly is that it can instantly kill a person on contact. As one of the bones entered Obito's body, it began to disintegrate, and even Naruto's healing abilities could not save him. This was the same Naruto who prevented Might Guy from dying after using the Eighth Gate.

Kaguya's ultimate weapon is the expansive truth-seeking ball, but it has a significant drawback – it requires a lot of chakra. Since she creates a truth-seeking ball the size of a planet, it's hardly surprising that even someone like her can't move afterwards. Like any truth-seeking ball, this one can also decimate an opponent on contact. With all these powers, it is not surprising that the entire world was once under her rule.
Ikemoto can easily bring back Kaguya Otsutsuki in Boruto
Before we go any further, it's important to clarify that Kaguya Otsutsuki didn't die at the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War, but was rather sealed away by Team 7. So she's still alive and can be brought back. But the question is, will Ikemoto trust her? Considering there's no shortage of Otsutsuki-level characters in Boruto, that might be unlikely. But it would be unwise to completely rule out the possibility.
Kaguya Otsutsuki has ties to Isshiki Otsutsuki. In the first half of the story, it was confirmed that the two traveled to Earth together, but at one point, Isshiki was mortally wounded by Kaguya, who then took the chakra fruit for herself, and the rest is history. The Otsutsuki clan sent Momoshiki and Kinshiki to deal with Kaguya and punish her for the transgressions. But they were a few centuries too late. With Momoshiki and Isshiki still relevant to Boruto's overall story, there's no denying that Kaguya's introduction would spice things up. Besides Kaguya's connection to the two Otsutsuki, her memory is fresh in the minds of Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi and Sakura. After all, they were the ones who fought bravely against Kaguya and sealed her away.
Naruto and Sasuke also have to make a comeback
Kaguya's return isn't the only difficult thing; Naruto and Sasuke also have problems. The two have been abused by the author for quite some time. Not only have they been sidelined in favor of other characters, but they have also been stripped of their greatest powers and constantly humiliated. Naruto lost the Nine-Tails, who had been with him since the latter was just a baby. Meanwhile, Sasuke's Rinnegan was destroyed by Boruto, whose body had been temporarily taken over by Momoshiki. The removal of Naruto and Sasuke from the spotlight has also negatively affected the manga's popularity and caused a decline in overall sales.

It's the natural reaction of fans to seeing their favorite characters so ruthlessly ostracized. Many of them have been vocal about the situation, asking the author to bring Naruto and Sasuke back into battle. But fans must also remember that Ikemoto has his own plans for the duo. The same goes for other legendary characters like Sakura Haruno and Kakashi Hatake. At this point, fans have to trust Ikemoto's abilities and hope that the author can redeem himself.
