While Kurogiri has saved the villain on several occasions with his warning report, he has always felt like a member who is overshadowed by his loyal comrades, especially since Kurogiri is arrested so suddenly while the others grow and develop. What also increased the mystery of this creepy butler was the dark fog that covered his face, which made it impossible to derive who it really hid behind the cold and eerie exterior.

Not long before the last war between the heroes and villains starts, Aizawa and the present microphone discover that Kurogiri in a sad event is actually a nomu that came from the corpse of its childhood friend, Oboro. The events up to this terrible transformation would be explored in Vigilant Series, but for a good while fans had no idea who Shigaraki's personal assistant was and how he came to acquire such an incredibly strong impact.
