Kingmakers have been indefinitely delayed four days before launch

One of Steam's most desired games, Kingmakers, has suddenly suffered an indefinite delay just four days before it was launched.

If you have been on social media in the past year or so (which is all of us, let's be real), then you have undoubtedly seen the viral revealing trailer for Kingmakers, who starts to look like a generic fantasy game before showing its time travel hook. That trailer was enough to make Kingmakers a pretty big thing and rocket it up to sixth place in Steam's leaderboards.

If you have had Kingmakers on your wish list, you are undoubtedly aware that it was supposed to launch in a few days on October 8. This is not the case anymore, as the expected game has been delayed from nowhere indefinitely so that the developers can polish it.

As pointed out by the PCGAMESN, a statement was shared on the official Kingmaker's Twitter account from Developer Redemption Road. The statement says that “after a lot of contemplation”, the planned October 8 -Freedom for Kingmakers has been indefinitely pushed back, with redemption road that apologizes to fans who were happy for the game.

So why is kingmaker suddenly pushed back to an unknown date? Redemption Road says it is because it is an “incredibly ambitious” game, and that it does not want to cut any of the planned features for “sake to get it out the door before”. The statement then goes in detail about Kingmaker's ambitious games, before he notes that more polishing is needed.

While the delay is sad news for anyone who wanted to play Kingmakers next week, Redemption Road has at least promised half an hour deep dive into the game's mechanics “very soon”. But at the moment we have no idea when the king's maker is planned, and it can end up in 2026, given that no fixed date or publishing window has been given.
