The One Piece anime is undergoing a major change, and after anime took a 6 month break last year it seems like more changes are afoot. Recently a major One Piece a live event took place and some big reveals about the anime were made.
While the information revealed is certainly huge, it is not necessarily good news. It has now been officially revealed The One Piece anime will be on a longer hiatus after the conclusion of the Egghead arc. This break will stretch from January to the end of March, but that's not all. The One Piece anime will reportedly only have 26 episodes per year going forward. This is terrible news for many avid anime watchers. On the other hand, this can also mean some improvements on the quality side.
One Piece Anime goes on another extended hiatus
The anime will go on hiatus between January and April 2026
At the end of 2024, until April 2025, One Piece the anime went on a rather long hiatus, spanning 6 months. This break came out of nowhere, and fans weren't too happy about it. Ever since this hiatus, fans of One Piece anime has had a major problem to deal with often, and that is more anime interruptions. It seems that the worst fear of all One Piece fans is now real, as it has been officially confirmed that One Piece will go on an extended hiatus.
Earlier today there was one One Piece NEWS press conference held by the official One Piece account, and some big news has been revealed. The biggest among them has to do with anime, and one new break coming.
It has actually just been revealed that One Piece anime will go on hiatus again, starts January 2026. This break will extend to the end of March and extend beyond 3 months in total. Once this break is over, the long awaited Elbaf arc begins in the anime.

While One Piece anime's next big breakthrough is confirmedit is not the last one would expect. Among everything else that was revealed, the One Piece account also confirmed that after the hiatus, fans should now only expect 26 episodes in a year. In other words, a 6-month break will be an annual event.

It has also been confirmed that One Piece The anime will be split into two parts of 13 episodes eachspread over the year. In other words, there will likely be another hiatus once the first batch of 13 episodes has aired. Many are unhappy, especially since the pacing of the anime will remain unchanged, and this has now been officially confirmed. Fans at least hope that this hiatus will improve the quality of the series.
