Akaza and Tanjiro: a bitter rivalry
The upper ranking three killed low hashira
Ever since Tanjiro Kamado became a Demon Slayer, he has been lucky enough to work with some of the most talented swords in the Taisho era. He has also crossed paths with Muzan and become friends with Tamayo, one of the oldest demons living. These experiences have shaped him in the fighter he is today but not all his lessons have been nice.
There were never any flames among all Hashira that I have killed until now. And no one ever took me up on my offer either. Why do you think it's? As a co -map artist, I just don't get it. Not when only the chosen ones can become demons! … look at the horrible decline of someone who is blessed with extraordinary forces … it pains me! I can't wear it! Die, Kyojuro … while you are still young and strong. ~ Akaza
In the Mugen Train Arc, when Enmu was defeated, it seemed as if Demon Slayers had completed his mission successfully. But life was about to take a tragic tour for Tanjiro and his friends. When they had barely managed to recover from the injuries caused by the train crash and fight against Enmu, Akaza arrived at the stage with an unfortunate plan.
Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku understood that Tanjiro and his friends were unable to fight, so he took it to fight the upper moon. Unfortunately, the power gap in such battles is so important that cleaning's courage can just as easily be considered a suicide mission.
Some of his experience may even knew it, but Kyojuro was not the kind of person to let Akaza hurt the young and promising demon. When they fought, Flame Hashira exceeded all expectations and landed several serious attacks, but the demon's superior regenerative power was difficult to keep up with. Eventually, the battle of endurance pushed Rengooku to its boundaries and just before sunrise, Akaza landed a deadly battle that killed him shortly thereafter.

Demon Slayer: Best episode in each bow, ranked
Demon Slayer consists of iconic and memorable stories, and for each there is a single section that stands over the rest.
When a whole war finally breaks out after the Hashira training, the time is finally right for Kamado to confront Akaza. If Tanjiro had fought the upper ranked moon before, he would have met a much worse fate than Rengoku because of the power gap. But he is no longer the demon -layer he was when he first met Akaza.
Since then, Tanjiro has become skilled at using sunbathing and has also played a crucial role in defeating Hantengu, Gyutaro and Daki. These upper moons were no pushover and forced Kamado to reinvent its martiality. Interestingly, he not only developed every time, but also revealed that he is sufficiently adaptable to use techniques developed by his friends.
Perhaps Tanjiro's most affordable performance since the battle on the Mugen train has manifested Demon Slayer Mark. The superhuman powers granted by the mysterious marking significantly improves a demon Slayer's combat ability to the point that Muichiro on its own defeats Gyokko.
You misunderstand, Tanjiro. I only despise the weak. I just spit on weak. Yes. Weaklings make me sick. It is the law of nature that they weed. ~ Akaza
But as big as Demon Slayer Mark's influence has been, it would be stupid to expect the three top upper moons to be vulnerable because of it. Akaza, Kokushibo and Doma seem to have the ability to regain their heads even after they are beheaded by a nichirin leaf. Their regenerative forces are so extreme that even deadly attacks do not make them flinch. Even when he fought against Kyojuro, Akaza took too many direct and painful hits, but every time he seemed to pull them away as if they didn't disturb him.
When Tanjiro finally confront him in Infinity Castle, he must be on his toes every second. Even a small opening will be fatal. Sunbathing with the demon Slayer Mark will surely give Tanjiro an advantage but will it be enough for any of Akaza's caliber? The Infinity Castle trilogy will highlight the harsh reality to fight against the top three upper moons and also reveal if Tanjiro has finally become stronger than Akaza or not.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Trilogy's first payout is scheduled to be released in the US September 12, 2025.
