A recent one LEGO the leak gives fans an early look at an all-new set debuting in August based on the beloved sci-fi film ET the alien. The LEGO set will include more than 1,000 pieces for fans to build an entire statue of the titular alien.
LEGO has been going wild with its crossover sets throughout 2026, releasing sets for a variety of beloved franchises. The long awaited Pokémon LEGO sets took the world by storm after they were released in February, debuting a massive set for Kanto starter Pokemon and stand-alone sets for Pikachu and Eevee. LEGO has also released crossover sets for everything from Minecraft and Super Mario Bros. to Jurassic Park and The Lord of the Ringswith more on the way during the rest of the year. Now leaks suggest that a beloved sci-fi movie is getting a new official LEGO crossover set.

Prominent LEGO community account LGM Bricks features a new official E.T the set is slated for release later this summer. The set will include a full statue of the titular ET holding a flower pot and making the famous pointing gesture with his left index finger, including lights on both his chest and left index finger. The LEGO Ideas set contains a total of 1,226 pieces and will include batteries for the light-up elements on the statue, with the package indicating that the statue requires watch batteries. LGM Bricks confirms that E.T The LEGO set will retail for $139.99, scheduled to be officially released on August 1st.

The release of E.T LEGO sets arrive just before the classic family film celebrates a major milestone. 2027 will officially mark the 45th anniversary of the film, which originally debuted to fans and critics in June 1982. ET the alien widely considered to be one of the most influential films ever made and held the title of highest-grossing film of all time for eleven years after its debut, eventually being surpassed by the first Jurassic Park film. E.T has seen several re-releases in honor of major anniversaries of its original release, most recently appearing in IMAX theaters in 2022 to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
E.T joins several popular movies and series that received new LEGO sets earlier in 2026. Harry Potter franchise received several LEGO sets at the start of the year, including everything from the hospital ward at Hogwarts to the Sorting Hat. Star Wars was also the subject of several sets over the year, most recently launching a statue of an AT-RT driver's helmet and a scaled-up version of the Darth Vader minifigure. A new Boba Fett LEGO set is also rumored to be released alongside E.T takes place in August.
Between big crossovers and exciting new ideas, LEGO looks to have a lot more going on for the rest of the year. A recent leak suggested that LEGO is working on a unique Donkey Kong set, which replicates one of the franchise's original arcade machines with a playable LEGO version of the classic game. LEGO is also rumored to launch its first crossover with the iconic Dragon Ball anime franchise, reportedly releasing a diorama of Shenron in November. LEGO fans should have a lot to look forward to with a variety of sets launching in the second half of 2026.
