Nintendo's latest financial report highlights some of the upcoming ones Switch 2 games that are on the way for 2026 and beyond. Nintendo's Switch 2 has been a huge success since its launch last June, selling nearly 20 million units and outselling its predecessor in the process. If Nintendo wants to keep the Switch 2's momentum going, it's going to need to make sure there's a steady stream of new games for fans to play in the coming months.
As of this writing, much of Nintendo's plans for the Switch 2 in 2026 are a mystery. While leaks have potentially teased some of the big games Nintendo is releasing this holiday season, the company has mostly kept its focus on the games coming out in the next few months. The latest update Nintendo gave about upcoming games for the Switch 2 came as part of its latest financial report, and there are some big titles to look forward to in the near future.

Nintendo's announcement didn't include new game reveals, but it did reiterate the major Switch 2 games that will be released in the near future. On the first-party side, Nintendo has Yoshi and the Mysterious Book will be released as a Switch 2 exclusive on May 21st, followed by Star Fox remake on June 25. Single player/co-op focused Splatoon by-product, Splatoon Raiderswill be released on July 23rd. And finally, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave released this year, while Pokemon winds and waves coming sometime in 2027. Switch 2 owners will also have the chance to play Switch 1 games Rhythm Heaven Groove on July 2 because the Switch 2 is backwards compatible with the Switch 1 software.

Nintendo is likely to host a big Nintendo Direct event in June where it will have many more reveals for first-party Switch 2 exclusive games, but in the meantime, reliable leaks have potentially revealed some plans ahead of schedule. Leakers have correctly predicted the release windows for Star Fox and Splatoon Raidersand so it is natural that their claim that Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave will be released this summer is correct as well. The same leaker also said that a Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is coming to the Switch 2 as the big holiday game, so it will be interesting to see if it pans out.

Xbox published Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming to Switch 2 on May 12, while Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition is on deck on May 22. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be released for Switch 2 on June 3 alongside eFootball Kick Off!and The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales coming on June 18. Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok released on July 9, Culdcept begins coming on July 16 and this summer will be released 007 First light and Orbitalswith the latter being a Switch 2 exclusive focused on co-op. Village in the shadow coming to Switch 2 this fall, and finally, Professor Layton and The New World of Steam will be released sometime later this year.
Really, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to upcoming Switch 2 games. You can be sure that there should be plenty of worthwhile games to play on Nintendo's latest home console/handheld hybrid, although the jury is still out on whether fans think the software justifies the price hike for the Switch 2 console.
