The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom features several mini-games for Zelda to experience while taking time off from Hyrule's rift problems. She can take on dream challenges in the Slumber Dojo, and she can harvest mangoes in the Tough Mango Lab, just for starters. The minigame we're interested in here, however, is Hyrule Ranch Flag Race.

How to Master the Short Course Flag Race – Echoes of Wisdom
The Short course is the first Flag Race track Zelda can try out. When you first approach the Flag Race NPC, she will automatically start Zelda with the short path.
Short course, explained:
- Basic objectives: Under 23 seconds
- Main objectives: Under 17 seconds
The Short course have 6 flags and takes place on the course around the outside edge of the ranch. There will be several obstacles that Zelda must navigate. When you come across a line of crates blocking the way completely, you can count on the horse to jump them. For the basic objective, use Dash sparingly. Just save it for open right away. For the Master goal, you really need to get a feel for when you can use Rush. For this reason, we include a video on how to master each course, as it is much easier to see it in action.
On Short coursethe goal is to Rush as soon as Start whistle. Then, every chance you get to run right in, do it. Avoid running into turns at all costs, as chances are you'll either run into the fence or stall.
Short Course Rewards:
- Short course Basic reward: Red Rupee (20)
- Short Course Champion Reward: 3 Might Crystals
- Short rate recurring reward: Radiant Butter (Basic x1, Master x2)

How to Master the Flag Race Middle Lane – Echoes of Wisdom
Intermediate course, explained
- Basic goals: For 25 seconds
- Master goal: For 20 seconds
The Intermediate course have 5 flagswith an extended course that takes Zelda beyond the eastern edge of Hyrule Ranch. This course is actually easier to master, and most players should be able to do it within a few tries if they have mastered the short course. The key here is to use Dash at just the right moments. There are more sharp turns on this track, so players need to be careful using Dash heading into the turns. The best way to use Dash here is to get out of the big turns. Watch the full Middle Course race in the video above.
The above images show the examples of when to use Dash in the intermediate course. Don't use it from the starting line, use it after swinging through the first flag. Use it again right through the trees, then again after turning into the box jump. Finally, use it one more time before turning to the finish line.
- Intermediate Course Basic Reward: Prismatic Music Box (for creation of Dampé Automaton)
- Intermediate Master Reward: Piece of heart
- Intermediate recurring reward: Fresh Milk (Basic x1, Master x3)

How to Master the Flag Race Long Course – Echoes of Wisdom
Long course, explained:
- Basic goals: Under 50 seconds
- Master goal: For 40 seconds
The Long Course features 8 Flags, and a significantly extended course that essentially adds the Middle Track to the Short Track, albeit with different obstacle placements. For the full course, see the video guide above.
Strategic Dashing is again important in the long run, but the basic objective is also the most forgiving. It's mastering the final track that can prove challenging. Like the middle track, don't shoot until you swing through the first flag. Then wait to Dash again until you've turned through the sharp corner after the second flag.
Now you have to resist the urge to Dash until you've made it through the next part of the race, especially after the third flag. Wait until you've made it all the way through the fifth flag, then Dash as you turn down towards the ranch. Once you're back on track, Dash needs to get right in, as the turns can prove tricky.
- Basic Reward: Purple Rupees (50)
- Master Reward: Horse Attack Up
- Recurring reward: Fresh Milk (Basic x3, Master x5)
