How to open Recolliger's Plot Safe in Rogue Trader

The safe in Recolliger's Plot is submitted Rogue Trader can be opened by passing a handful of awareness and logic checks. You must interact with the seemingly random pieces of junk strewn around the deck, and once you pass the necessary checks on the right piles of junk, you'll eventually unlock the ability to interact with one of the cogitators that contains the code for the safe. For this neat little interaction in Rogue Traderyou want to bring characters with high Perception and Tech-Use traits, like Pasqal or your own Rogue Trader.

Rogue Trader: How to unlock the safe in Recolliger's plot

When you first board the ship, talk to Reta and exhaust all her dialogue options. Treat them as you will, but in my review I went the Iconoclast route, so nothing serious came out except for an exchange of pleasantries. To be sure, I recommend not countering Recolligersand make sure that at least accept Reta's offer to sell you components. If you skip her dialogue, you may not be able to interact with the safe.

After talking to Reta, do the following:

  1. Pass the skill check on the Recolliger's Safe to see that it is locked.

  2. Interact with the scrap pile with an awareness check on the table in the center of the deck.

  3. Interact another pile of scrap near the table in the middle of the deck.

  4. Interact with the cogitator west of your ship. Keep passing skill checks on this cogitator until you can get the codes for the safe.

  5. Once you get the security code, go back to the safe to open it.

Inside the safe you'll find a Fractal Blade, which gives an additional 25% parry bonus on top of the 10% bonus naturally given by all sword weapons. The caveat here is that Fractal Blades are Aeldari weaponsso you must have Aeldari weapon proficiency to use them. Jae and Yrliet can use Aeldari weapons by default, so this would be a good weapon to give them if they ever need a sword (although the effectiveness of this will most likely fall off by the start of Act 3).

You'll also find a couple of Incendiary Grenades in Recolliger's Plot in Rogue Trader, but these aren't as valuable as the Fractal Blade. Still, they are useful for flushing enemies out of cover or inflicting Burn on healthy enemies.

What else is in Recolliger's Plot?

Unfortunately, there isn't much else to loot here. There are a few interaction items that contain merchandise, but that's about it.

If you want to help Reta and her crew, go back to your void and then interact with Recolliger's Plot again from the system map. You are given an option to either blow the ship to pieces for some Heretical points, or send a supply shuttle to the Recolligers. However, the latter doesn't seem to give you any benefits.

Fractal Blade is pretty useful for melee characters, though only if they have Aeldari weapon proficiency. If you're looking for weapons for your other characters, you'll have to look elsewhere. For example, The Unidentified Ruins in Latotian's Passage has a Force Sword that you can equip on your melee Psykers.
