8 Devil Fruits That Rival The Elders' Yokai Forms, Ranked

During One Piecepp Egghead arc, fans were introduced to some of the most anticipated villains in all of history: the Gorosei, or Five Elders. These legendary figures were first shown during the Jaya arc and have been teased for much of the story, and during their appearance on Egghead, the group finally revealed their mysterious powers with their terrifying Yokai forms.

When the five showed off their powers, fans quickly noticed that these villains were easily among the strongest characters in the series, and far above most of the world in terms of outright strength. However, there are some Devil Fruit users in the One Piece who would have a chance to take down these terrifying evils.

Magu Magu no Mi has the strongest attack power

User: Akainu

Akainu is one of the most dangerous figures on the Grand Line, and in the aftermath of the Marineford War, he became the highest authority in the fleet due to his promotion to Admiral of the Fleet. Naturally, his strength reflects his station, as Akainu possesses the Logia Devil Fruit, which Oda himself has stated has the highest attack power in the series.

Akainu is also the only person affiliated with the World Government who has talked back to the Elders, showing that his attitude is as fiery as his power. Due to the searing heat of the magman he creates, Akainu has a way of bypassing standard defenses, making him one of the strongest figures in One Piece's Final Saga.

The Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu Is a Broken Mythical Zoan Fruit

User: Kaido

Similar to Gorosei's incredible Yokai forms, Kaido possesses a Devil Fruit that grants him an impossibly powerful and durable transformation, due to him being a Mythical Zoan. Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu allows Kaido to transform into a towering dragon whose scales are extremely durable, historically allowing him to fight for days on end without rest.

Although Kaido places great importance on mastering Haki, his overpowered Devil Fruit is one of the biggest reasons behind his otherworldly power, as he can unleash powerful blasts of fire that can completely destroy giant structures as well as create clouds of flame that lift entire islands. Due to such feats, the Azure Dragon Mythical Zoan is likely equal to Gorosei's Yokai forms.

Ryu Ryu no Mi, model: Kirin brings nightmares to life

User: St. Limousine Killingham

The Elbaf arc was quite an eye opener for the power scaling of One Pieceand one of the greatest examples of this was St. Limosiv Killingham's Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin. Like Kaido, this Devil Fruit gave its user the powers of a dragon, although Killingham's powers were much more varied than the previous Yonko's.

Basically, the Kirin Fruit can bring anyone's dreams or nightmares to life in tangible form, which is not only difficult for the opponent to deal with from a psychological perspective, but also because these manifestations are incredibly powerful in themselves. During the Elbaph arc, Killingham brought forth massive monsters far larger than the giants, and even manifested the rain god Zaza, who may be one of the strongest figures in larger One Piece lore.

Ope Ope no Mi gives the user molecular control

One of the most broken Paramecia fruits in the entire environment belongs to Trafalgar Law, called Ope Ope no Mi. Basically, this fruit allows its user to create a virtual space around them, within which they can control or manipulate everything down to a molecular level.

Law was seen completely disassembling his opponents and even transplanting their brains into other bodies, showing just how overpowered this fruit truly is. In his fight against Big Mom, Law awakened the Ope Ope no Mi, due to which he could apply its powers to anything without having to create the room. Because of this, he was able to bypass all defenses from quite a distance, which would prove necessary against Gorosei if they were ever to fight.

Hito Hito no Mi, model: Nika allows less reality manipulation

Of all the Devil Fruits on this list, the Nika Fruit is the only one that has been used in battle against the Gorosei, and while it didn't do any significant damage to either of them, it certainly proved that it could stand up to them on equal terms. This is mainly due to the lesser levels of reality manipulation it allows the user to perform.

In his fight against Gorosei, Luffy managed to use his powers to grow in size exponentially and fight the Elders. The biggest feat of power in this battle was when he managed to flatten Kizaru and St. Jaygarcia Saturnus into discs and throw them very far, and when Luffy finally mastered Gear 5's powers, he could definitely surpass these enemies.

Ryu Ryu no Mi, model: Nidhogg is likely much stronger

User: Loki

Loki's titanic size alone makes him one of the strongest figures in the whole thing One Piece world, but beyond that he is an incredibly amazing fighter who managed to use Advanced Conquerors Haki in his first time trying to awaken the power against his father. As if that wasn't enough, Loki also has one of the strongest Devil Fruits in the franchise.

The Nidhogg fruit takes Loki's already massive form and makes him even bigger by completely transforming him into a dragon so massive it dwarfs entire islands. This is the most powerful dragon fruit in the series, and his fight against Imu showed exactly how strong it really is, as his breath attack injured the ruler of the world and caused him to bleed, even though Loki was weak and imprisoned for a long time before that.

Gura Gura no Mi has the power to destroy the world

Users: Edward Newgate, Marshall D. Teach

Although Magu Magu no Mi has the strongest attack power in the series, the prize for the outright strongest Devil Fruit i One Piece go to Gura Gura no Mi instead. Known as the Quake or Tremor Fruit, this fruit is believed to have the power to destroy the world itself, and even in its weaker uses, Whitebeard and Blackbeard were shown to completely turn around and reshape islands.

Of all the Devil Fruits seen in the series, this one probably has the best chance of bypassing the defense and durability of Elder's Yokai forms, being a power that prioritizes pure power over anything else. Somehow, Whitebeard even bypassed the intangibility of Akainu's Logia Fruit with Gura Gura no Mi's earthquake powers, implying that even Gorosei would not be able to withstand its strength.

Akuma no Mi might be the strongest devil fruit of them all

User: St. Nerona Imu

Currently, it is unclear what Elder's Yokai forms are, as they have some of the characteristics of Mythical Zoan fruits but are very clearly loaded with other, more mystical abilities. What is known, however, is the fact that these special qualities are granted to them to some extent by Imu, as he was able to remove Saturn's powers, killing him in the process.

As such, any Devil Fruit ability that grants abilities to other characters in any capacity is arguably stronger than its subordinate powers. The nature and full abilities of Imus Akuma no Mi are still shrouded in mystery, but everything shown about it has convinced most fans to conclude that this is the strongest power of all One Piece.
