How to level the harvest quickly in the New World: Aeternum

Harvest in New World: Aeternum can be extremely time consuming, and it is seriously difficult to level up this trading skill, more so for new players coming into the game who want to start weaving the best bags and clothes for their characters. However, harvesting is not only about obtaining fiber for weaving, but also many important elements for cooking skills, Arcana, and other trade skills that require harvested materials.

New World: Aeternum – How to level up fast

Here are some things you can do to reach New World: Aeternum's endgame as quickly as possible.

First, players should learn to familiarize themselves with the harvesting system, what tools they need, what materials they can pick up with it, and even the best farming routes to level up that trade skill.

How to Harvest in the New World: Aeternum

The basics of harvesting are quite simple: players must approach a resource node and press the E button on your keyboard, the triangle button (PS5) or the X button (Xbox) to interact with the node.

To reap, players
need to have a scythe
which are available in different levels from 1 to 5.

Every “gathering” Trade Skill is associated with a list of items/materials that players can get, and once they level up the profession they will unlock “tracking” for said resources. These nodes will appear as small icons on the compass above the screen. For example, the hemp fiber icon will be a small pink leaf with a characteristic pattern. Other similar resources – such as mushrooms (which can also provide pigments) and special resources (such as bulbs and flowers) – have their own icons.

Players will be able to collect certain nodes depending on their level. From level 1 to 50 it will be mostly herbs and hemp, but at level 25 players will unlock elemental flowers and bulbsso looking out for them while they do a harvest route is a good way to get extra Trade Skill Mastery (experience).

Finally, there is a chance to find super rare, epic and legendary resources if players pay attention to magical creatures scattered throughout the map. They are mostly hidden in plain sight and produce a characteristic sound depending on their element as the player approaches. These can be harvested at any level and always provide a nice boost to harvest levels.

New World Aeternum: How to play with friends

New World is more fun when you play with friends. If you can't figure out how to do it, this guide can help.

How to Raise Crops Fast in the New World: Aeternum

The best way to level up Harvest in New World: Aeternum is by collecting everything players can get their hands on, from plants to berries, vegetables, elemental flowers, mushrooms and magical creatures. But there are a number of things players can do to increase their harvest level more effectively:

  • Pick one up agricultural road and follow it for a while. Nodes are not procedural, so they will revived in the same place after a while, so players can go and harvest them again after a short time.
  • The ideal paths for beginners are between Monarch's Bluff and Windsward environs (1-17) and are filled to the brim with hemp, herbs and berries.
    • A detailed video about these routes can be found below.
  • Equip tools with “Mastery Perk,” which will increase the amount of Trade Skill Mastery players earn each time they harvest a node.
    • The same can be said about specialized equipment, such as Reaper Setwhich comes with full perks that increase resource yield and mastery points.
  • Equip tools that increase harvest speed — This is a must, as this will allow players to farm more efficiently.
  • When you upgrade standing with a territory, players will be able to choose a certain boon each time they increase a standing level. Picking up the boon of harvest speed is also a good idea to increase harvest leveling efficiency – and it will also help with any other trade skills related to gathering.

It is also important to mention that the harvest is related to Intelligence attribute and its benefits. Choosing the Intelligence attribute branch offers many important bonuses:

  • Perk unlocked with 25 points: +10% Harvest Speed.
  • Perk unlocked with 50 points: +5% chance to find Azoth when harvesting.
  • Perk unlocked with 100 points: +50 maximum load.
  • Perk unlocked with 150 points: 10% reduced weight for all harvested items.
  • Perk unlocked with 200 points: +20% harvest speed.
  • Perk unlocked with 250 points: +10% yield when harvesting.
  • Perk unlocked with 300 points: 25% reduction in Azoth travel cost.
  • Perk unlocked with 350 points: 10% chance to find rare items during harvest.

If players are dedicated to Weaving, Arcane, or Armor Crafting, they will probably already be using the Intelligence build. If not, consider taking advantage of these Attribute perks.

Best areas for crop leveling in the New World: Aeternum

Every player should be able to discern which is the best farming path they want to follow, mostly based on how many nodes they can collect in a given time, but to make it easier for them, here is a summary of the best farming paths to level up Harvest faster:

  • Level 1-50+: As shown in the video above, the region between the Monarch's Bluff shoreline and the Windsward shoreline is packed with level 1-50 nodes to get most players to climb over the first soft cap in the game. Afterwards, players should move a bit west, towards the Central Windsward Watch area, a small island between rivers accessible by a small road bridge.
  • Level 50+: The Central Windsward Watch area: Players will certainly remember this area as a huge plain filled with Bison (also a great place to complete hunting quests and level skinning). In this part of the map, however, there are at least 56 nodes of hemp scattered around, so going around the island and collecting them will surely increase the player's level significantly.
  • Level 100-150+: Everfall forestsand surrounding areas. Players must be at least level 17-25 to roam safely. There are several Light Blooms, Dragonglory, Soulsprout and Silkweed patches around this area. It will be enough for players to rise up to 150.
  • Level 150-200+: North BrightwoodMorgenstadt/Great Cleave Salt Lake is the area where the players will go next. From there, it's all about collecting plants like Aloe and Spinfiber until they reach level 200. After that, they'll be able to reach level 205 with a little extra effort, and that means they'll be able to collect most of the ingredients in New World: Aeternum.
