Silent Hill 2 Remake did more than just add a bunch of quality of life improvements to the beloved classic. In addition to the original set of endings, Silent Hill 2 Remake introduces two additional endings. The first is called 'Stillness' and the second is called 'Bliss'. Unlike some of the other end i Silent Hill 2 Remakethese two endings have very specific criteria for unlocking them. If you want to see a different outcome to James' story, here's how to unlock the “Bliss” ending.

How to get the “Bliss” ending in Silent Hill 2 Remake

The first step to getting this new ending is to beat the game and unlock the New Game+ mode. Not only can you get the absurdly powerful chainsaw in this mode, but it's also the only way to get the prank ending along with “Bliss” and “Stillness”. When you play New Game+, there will be some new key items for you to find and collect.

For the “Bliss” ending, you'll want to go to Pete's Bowl-O-Rama. Make sure you do this after you meet Maria, but before you enter the hospital. Inside Pete's Bowl-O-Rama, you'll find a safe that requires a code. The code for this safe is 1887. Inside the safe you will find a new item called the Rusted Key.

The code is on a note next to a corpse on the side of the road past the Historical Society's building.

From there you go to the hospital and continue with the game as usual. While exploring the hospital, but before going to the Otherworld version, you will come across a garden area with a gazebo. Under the gazebo there will be a small chest that you can pick up. When you have both Small Chst and Rusted Key, combine them in your inventory to get an item called White Claudia. Hold on to this for now, as it will be important later.

Where to use White Claudia

Continue through the game until you reach room 312 of the Lakeview Hotel where you watch the tape. Before watching the tape, be sure to open your inventory and use White Claudia. After that, interact with the VCR as usual. At this point, you have successfully unlocked the “Bliss” ending.

Don't forget to drink the White Claudia before interacting with the VCR, as trying to use it after watching the video will have no effect, and you will then have to reload a previous save.
