How to get the Hippo Calf Minion

Vanaspati is a level 85 dungeon Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker. The last days have begun, and it is up to you and your allies to protect the Thavnairian Forest of Vanaspati. Travel through the dungeon and defeat the blasphemous creatures of the last days.

Vanaspati is full of dangerous enemies that can give you a hard time. You need to prepare accordingly if you want to get to the depths of this forest. Let's go through each boss in Vanaspati and how you can beat them.

How to unlock Vanaspati

Vanaspati is unlocked through the main scenario through the following missions.

Accept the Main Scenario Quest “Sky's Aflame”
- NPC Location: Tataru – Old Sharlayan (X:9.1, Y:11.3)

Dungeon Walkthrough

You will face three bosses in Vanaspati, each with moderate difficulty. Between each boss is a series of junk mobs that should be present grouped together and defeated with AoE rotations. If you clear this dungeon with Trusts, watch closely what your allies are doing to see where they move during each attack. This is a great way to learn the mechanics on your own.

Regardless, listed below are the three bosses you'll find in this dungeon, as well as each of their attacks and mechanics.

Terminus Snatcher

Vanaspati's first boss is Terminus Snatcher. Listed below are each of this boss's attacks.

Last move	Tank Buster	Deals heavy damage to the tank. Use defensive cooldowns to mitigate this damage.
Note on despair	AoE throughout the room	Damages all party members. The healer should prepare with AoE heals.
Mouth off	AoE	Terminus Snatcher will summon five unpainable mouths around the arena. All five mouths will have one speech bubble; three of them will say something while the other two will say something remain silent (indicated by “…”). The three speaking mouths arrive after a short delay, drop a big AoE centered on themselves, while silent mouths will not. Move to the mouth with “…” to avoid this attack.
What is left/right	AoE	The boss will hurt left or right side of the arenarespective. Watch out for the boss's casting bar before moving to the safe side of the arena.
Lost hope	Special	Adds all players with Temporary misrepresentationconfusing their movement inputs. A spinning finger will appear above each player's head, indicating which direction they will move when you press the movement button. This attack is coming occur under the mouth ofmaking it more difficult to reach the safe area.
Wallow	AoE	Places a red AoE marker on all players. Spread out from other players to avoid overlapping these AoEs. This attack will occur during What is left/right or Mouth offso be careful when dodging these mechanics as well.

Terminus Snatcher will overlap these attacks, forcing you to dodge AoEs from Mouth off while moving to the left or right of the boss below What is left/right. Pay attention to what the boss is doing and you'll be able to defeat the Terminus Snatcher and move on to the next boss.

Terminus Wrecker

Terminus Wrecker is Vanaspati's second boss. This boss will use fire and water attacks, and each of its mechanics are listed below.

Senseless destruction	AoE throughout the room	Deals damage to all party members. Heal as needed.
Poison heart	Stack AoE	Terminus Wrecker will place one stack pointer on a random player. Group by the affected player's position to spread the damage of this attack.
Unholy water	Call	Calling six water globes around the arena. Entering one of these orbs will apply shackles, making you unable to moveas well as add water resistance down and make you immune to fire damage.
Ether siphon	Special	The boss will suck ether from either the burning buildings or the lake and infuse them with fire or water etherrespective. It will then cast one of the following two attacks, depending on the type of aether that was sucked. Aether Spray – Fire: Deals heavy fire damage to all players. Enter one of the water globes from earlier to make yourself immune to this attack. Aether Spray – Water: Deals damage and knockback players from the center of the arena. Stand between two of the orbs to avoid getting into one. Getting caught in one of the water orbs will deal a lot of damage and stun you.

After the first cast of Aether Siphon, the boss will switch between fire and water. Remember what to do during each and you'll be able to defeat the Terminus Wrecker and move further into the dungeon.

Svarbhanu

The last head of Vanaspati is Svarbhanu. This blasphemy will use a variety of difficult mechanics, so be prepared. Also, the arena surrounding the boss will cause bleeding and light damage to players who enter, so avoid going near the arena. Each of the boss' attacks are listed below.

The flames of decay	AoE throughout the room	Deals damage to all party members. Apply AoE healing and shields as needed.
Etheric disturbance	AoE	This is the main mechanic of the boss that will be repeated several times throughout the fight. Svarbhanu is coming divide the arena into four lanes before doing each lane either red or blue. Shortly thereafter, a red circle or blue triangle appears across your screen. The color of the symbol indicates which two of the four lanes will explode and do damage. For example, if a red circle appears on the screen, move to one of the blue lanes to avoid this attack. After the first use of this attack, Etheric disturbance will always be followed by Crumbling sky.

Svarbhanu uses Aetherial Disruption to split the arena into red and blue lanes.

Spread out to avoid overlapping this AoE with the rest of your party, while making sure to stay in the correct color lane.
Meteors	AoE	Svarbhanu will fly into the sky and use a series of attacks. First comes the boss summon meteors in different patterns. Similar Etheric disturbancecome these meteors displayed in laneswith three meteors appear simultaneously. Find the gap in the meteor pattern and move accordingly to avoid the first part of this attack. Next, circular AoEs will spawn around the arena at random. You will need to avoid these AoEs while avoiding the meteors from earlier. This sequence of attacks will occur three times before the boss flies back to the arena.

AoE: Places one AoE marker on all players that will explode at the same time as the lanes explode into Etheric disturbance. Spread out to avoid overlapping this AoE with the rest of your party, while making sure to stay in the correct color lane.

Meteors

Svarbhanu will fly into the sky and use a series of attacks. First comes the boss summon meteors in different patterns. Similar Etheric disturbancecome these meteors displayed in laneswith three meteors appear simultaneously. Find the gap in the meteor pattern and move accordingly to avoid the first part of this attack.
- Next, circular AoEs will spawn around the arena at random. You will need to avoid these AoEs while avoiding the meteors from earlier.
- This sequence of attacks will occur three times before the boss flies back to the arena.

After you see each of these attacks at least once, Svarbhanu will start repeating and overlapping them. During Aetherial Disruption, there is a chance for Crumbling Sky to cause both knockback and AoE effects, so be careful where you get knocked back to. Continue with the knowledge you have gained and you will be able to defeat Svarbhanu and complete Vanaspati.

How to get the Hippo Calf Minion

Vanaspati has a unique Minion drop – the Hippo calf. This Minion falls from last chest in Dungeonafter defeating Svarbhanu. This means you have to beat the entire dungeon over and over again to farm the Minion drop.

If you want to save your sanity, you can
buy the hippo calf directly from the market board
but the price can be expensive, depending on your server.

The fastest way to breed Hippo Calf Minion is to desync this Dungeon with like minded players. A whole group of level 100 player can clear this Dungeon relatively quickly, but you'll have to split the Minion drop at the end. But if you can get three other people willing to stick around until everyone has their drop, this is the fastest guaranteed way to get the hippo calf.

Another option is to use Vanaspati Trusts. While these will be much slower than with real playersif the hippo calf drops, so do you guaranteed to get it.
