A Kage is the leader of the village who makes decisions for the betterment of his people and also protects the village from all kinds of threats. There are five major villages in Naruto, and each of them has its own Kage. These are the Hokage, Raikage, Tsuchikage, Kazekage and Mizukage. Since these villages have existed for centuries, it is hardly surprising that there have been so many Kage. Of course, some of them have died in ways that had a serious impact on history and changed the course of history.

Third Kazekage
-
Death by Sasori's hands
Those who have held the position of Kazekage have more often than not met unfortunate ends in the series. They have been assassinated throughout history, and the third Kazekage met a similar end. He was murdered by Sasori, who then turned him into a puppet. The Kazekage destabilized the village and led Rasa to rise to the top.

The Third Raikage
-
Strongest Raikage of all time
The Third Raikage was a phenomenal leader known for his brutal strength. He died fighting 10,000 shinobi. His efforts ensured that the village was safe from all kinds of threats. The third Raikage fought them for three days straight and died due to his body being exhausted. Despite being such a legendary ninja, the Third Raikage's death didn't have much of an impact on the overall story.

Danzo Shimura
-
Leader of the root organization
Danzo represented the dark side of Konoha. He was involved in clan politics and several illegal activities that, in his mind, were for the benefit of the hidden blade. Obviously, it was all a lie, as Danzo was only interested in gaining more power for himself.
In the second part of the story, he became the unofficial Sixth Hokage and attended the Kage Summit. During that time he was killed by Sasuke. With Danzo gone, his evil ideology was gone, and the massacre of the Uchiha was avenged.

Gaara
-
Fifth Kazekage of Sunagakure
Gaara played a crucial role in defending his village against Deidara, but it cost him his life when Akatsuki took out the tailed beast after his capture. He died but was saved by Naruto's group and Chiyo, further strengthening the relationship between Konoha and Sunagakure. Gaara's accidental death played a crucial role in Obito being able to revive the Ten-Tails.

The Fourth Kazekage of Hidden Sands
Rasa was the Fourth Hokage of the Hidden Sands and the father of Gaara, Temari and Kankuro. During Rasa's rule, the village was quite prosperous. Unfortunately, he was a malicious individual. At one point, Rasa decided to ally with Orochimaru to crush the hidden blade.
But Orochimaru betrayed and killed him in cold blood, and his death was the cause of the invasion of the Hidden Leaf Village. Orochimaru disguised himself as Rasa and launched his assault, leading to the death of Hiruzen Sarutobi. This created a huge power vacuum, and it also caused instability in the Hidden Blade and Hidden Sand.

Tobirama Senju
-
Second Hokage Of The Leaf
Tobirama was a mighty warrior who terrorized his enemies with a plethora of powerful jutsu. However, he was not infallible. Tobirama's death occurred when he deliberately stayed behind to stop the enemies so that his comrades could escape. It also led to Hiruzen becoming the new Hokage and the relationship between the Uchiha and the village becoming even worse.
3
Hiruzen Sarutobi
Hiruzen died to save the village from the threat of Orochimaru. His death left a great void that needed to be filled quickly, as the village needed someone to lead. This is where Tsunade appeared and took the position of Hokage after seeing Naruto's determination.
2
Hashirama Senju
-
Founder of Hidden Leaf Village
Hashirama died of unknown causes long before the current timeline. Although he was absent for most of his story, his influence cannot be ignored. After his death, Hashirama's cells became one of the most talked about topics in the series. His death also led to an increase in discrimination against the Uchiha clan. Furthermore, his death marked the beginning of the destabilization of the shinobi world.
1
Minato Namikaze
-
Fourth Hokage Of The Leaf
Minato is one of the most beloved characters in the series. He is admired for his cool attitude and powerful techniques. His death was an act of sacrifice to save his only child. Minato's sacrifice is arguably the single most important moment in the story. Without his efforts, Naruto would have died and would never have become the jinchuriki of the nine tails. Minato's decision was both rational and emotional. Minato not only saved his son's life, but entrusted him to become someone he could be proud of.
