Fish in Fields of Mistria is pretty easy, but if you plan to complete the Fish Wing in the museum, you'll need to fish in almost every area. The fish that appear will be affected by the type of water you are fishing in, the shade of the fish and the weather. You should be able to get in every seasonal fish Mistriabut if you're going for the legendary fish, you'll want to work on leveling up your fishing skill. There are a total of four legendary fish, one for each season.

You will not be able to catch legendary fish until you reach level 30 in fishing skill and bought Legendary Perk for 80 Essence. Once you have it, you'll sometimes get a notification about a legendary fish nearby at the beginning of a new day. It will appear right below the calendar date and any birthdays. As mentioned, there is only one legendary fish per season, so you only get one notification for one type of fish instead of all four at once.
The best way to level up Fishing is to fish and dive. It can be difficult to determine how much experience you gain from fishing, but if you make it a habit to fish every day, your fishing skill will climb. It may also help if you receive Tier 1 and Tier 2 benefits. Here are some to consider:
- Weedline Watcher (Tier 1): Fishing up trash becomes less likely. Costs 15 Essence.
- Appealing Unroll (Level 1): Fish are attracted to your Bobber from a greater range. Costs 10 Essence.
- Perfect Catch (Level 2): Uncommon and rare fish become more common. Costs 40 Essence.
You can catch Legendary Fish with a “weaker” fishing rod, but it is highly recommended that you buy (or forge)
Silver fishing rod
. This allows you to cast your line further than you can with the worn/copper/iron rod.

The cherry fish appear in the spring on windy days. You can check the weather with the crystal ball furniture. If there is a picture of a cherry blossom inside, it means that the next day will be Windy with Cherry Blossoms. You can only catch the cherry fish in ponds, so make way for the southern half of The Eastern Road. There is a large pond you can fish in over the bridge, or you can fish in the pond in the lower right corner. Remember you want to look out for small shadows. If you don't see any, leave the area and return to “freshen up” the fish.

The lightning fish only spawn in the summer when there is a storm. You will find the medium sized fish in rivers, but the best river to look for is the one under the bridge The Narrowsthe one south of the museum and Errol's house.

You can find Leaf Fish in the river on Eastern Road in autumn during windy weather. There's only one river on The Eastern Road, and it's right by the bridge you repaired for one of Mistrias story assignment. Much like cherry fish, Leaf Fish appears as a small shadow in the water.

The beach |
Snow Fish, as the name indicates, is the legendary winter fish, and it can be found in the sea by the shore when it is snowing. You can cast your line in any water at The Beach, but you want to be on the lookout for medium-sized shad. To cut down on running from one end of the beach to the other, choose a spot along the beach and fish there. You can “freshen up” the sea fish by entering/exiting the Tackle Shop or The Beach.
Where to use legendary fish
Can you sell them?
You cannot sell legendary fish or place them in aquariums in your cabin. The only way to use Legendary Fish is to donate them to the museum. Once you have donated all four legendary fish, you will receive one of the Fish Wings completion rewards. Depending on how many sets you have completed before turning in the legendary fish, the content will vary. You basically get a new piece of furniture and the recipe to craft it, as well as a treasure chest. The more Fish Wing sets completed, the higher the quality of the treasure chest.
